The division B title race could be concluded tonight with the correct results going for the Nomads, but Toms spirit will never relent a 5-0 victory for his bees would square things up again at the top. Having said that, game one immediately put pay to any 5-0 hopes for Tom, John unfortunately pegging his opener early on and giving the balls straight back to Michael. A shakey 4.5k to start, then after a short battle at the back Michael mopped up and added another 7k - hearing and semi-ignoring his teammates calls to do "nothing silly". With 12k on the board, Michael fancied topping his own div B high score, and a further 3.5k in the last couple of minutes did that. John had not had the run of the ball and Michael bought him a drink as some (probably small) compensation. 1-0. Next up JP and Dave. Now, the Garland top is always rather feast or famine. It isn't easy down the back but once you know its little quirks you can crack along as shown in leg one - Dave though seemed frustrated with those quirks early on. JP got the break back four times, but sadly couldn't convert them into a telling lead. Having left the one-up short and right on the hole, Dave pounced without hesitation, clearing the balls and setting about a break of 4k to get past JP and chalk up a first frame for the visitors. 1-1. Third up captain Tom was on against our new young wizard Dave. Tom decided to leave his cue power in Merstham today, struggling early on to hit the break with enough pace. After about 1k he ground to a halt and Dave mopped up the balls and set about putting on a target. Dave though didn't fancy doing this the easy way, a number of "hit it you tart" moments came and went and several smirks to scorer Michael later, Dave had battled his way to 5k which was thankfully kept. From here on it was a case of will Tom make it, he got the break back twice but sadly he had clearly been on a diet, an extra weetabix or three in the morning and he may have actually got the one-up!! Anyhow the table then loaded up and Dave was able to see out the win. 2-1. Fourth on Caroline was to play the ghostly Richard, but sadly ghosts have a little bit of trouble holding cues so an old fossil took his place. Jemima was certainly in her usual showboaty mood, but it was Caroline who made the running for the majority of the game. At about the 12 minute mark Jemima's flair produced some substance, a 2k break (which was kept thankfully after her moments of madness at Roffey CC a week earlier) gave her the lead and Caroline was unlucky not to get the break back from then on, Jemima taking the Nomads over the line to all but seal the Div B title. 3-1. Last up was the in-form Abbey and young Mark, who was looking to chalk up his first league win. Despite his teammates all struggling on their first shot on the break, Mark had no such issues getting both balls down first up. He opened with 600 and that was a crucial lead. Abbey struggled to find her recent fluency, struggling to adapt having played in the mixed pairs at Salfords pre-match. Mark kept his nerve throughout, despite his captain getting increasingly jumpy in the scorers seat. As Abbey sunk the last two balls to confirm Marks maiden win, Tom leaped from his seat, arms aloft, cheering manically - I'm almost shocked he didn't run naked through the streets of Redhill in celebration, he seemed that way inclined! 3-2. A lovely evening with Salfords B - as usual - and a night which sealed the Div B title for the Nomads, well unless the Old Oak win 5-0 in their last three, the Nomads lose 5-0 in their last one, and Old Oak decide to score 50,000 points per match! If that happens, perhaps Tommo will join Tom on his run through the streets of Redhill...

Congrats Michael on your new PB League score of 15520 - and also to Salfords' Mark Nash on his maiden win.
Re your last paragraph, I think your claim thus from your visit to BHCC : may have a rival contender !

Spcc B 2 Spcc A 3 South Park Derby
Mick 6460 Tracy nil Martin nil John S 12550 Genette 850 Laurie 9340 Pete 11210 Dave 2890 Denise 5300 Vern 5450
First up Mick and Tracy. Mick's break and playing pretty confidently but broke down on 2k. A few more shots and Tracy got the Balls back and playing some great splits was sailing to 5k but one shot on the 50 she caught a bit pacey and the ball just had Enough to hit the peg. So unlucky. Mick stepped in and showed no mercy to play it out.
Game 2 Me and Martin. My break but pressure now on to make enough. A couple of excursions up the top but off with 7900 and tap Martin with no luck pegged next visit and I got them back to run it out. 1-1
Next up a rejuvenated Loz this season and Genette. Laurie making no mistakes 6k opener and Gen struggling to get going. A few More goes each and Laurie cleared up and added some more. Now 2-1 to us with games going with the break.
DC and Pete on 4 and Pete's break. A superb near 8k and touch left Dave just about time to chase Pete's score but the break Wouldn't come back. Pete though made a good clear and added some more before DC made a consolation few. 2-2
Last but not least Denise and Vern. You could cut the Atmosphere and tension with a knife. Vern on going along nice but off. Denise the Same. Break for break till Denise got the lead. The leg slipping away from us one last chance and Vern on a steady but pressured last Go. Time short bang the bar and out with the calculators. Last ball frame and you could have heard a pin drop as skipper took his time And sunk it first go down the 100
What a cracking Match which couldn't have been closer. Great pressure breaks amazing atmosphere and a good result for us keeping The title hopes alive. Lovely evening finished off with a great spread and a few drinks . Thanks Gen and Pete.
