Roffey CC 1, Windmill GG 4 - The Champions retain their title !Brian Marten 2740, *Mick Holmwood 3270 (Mick building an early 2k lead and defending it well)*John Tidy 1770, Graham Daniels 6980 (John had a useful start but thenceforth Graham played every shot on the table) Keith Newman BP, *Clive T 2670 (Similar to the first game, with the table getting clogged up and Noggs having no luck whatsoever)So that was that, job done, and the match now took an interesting turn :*Jim Balchin BFZ, Paul Jobbins 750Always a matter for conjecture, which Jemima will turn up, and the answer tonight was ..... both !!First break, Dr Jekyll going smoothly with 2k-plus and not a split missed - until Mr Hyde took over and put them down 4 times.Paul managed 750 before getting out of position, and Dr Jekyll once more took centre stage, this time 9 discs were added to the side of the table, before he too got out of position and left a ball up the middle. Mr Hyde then took the cue and chose the wrong side of the black to aim his shot and caught the left hand roll, missing the object ball by some considerable margin. So 11k lost in total. *Dave Sands 6080, *Michael Wilson 3710Michael off after a couple of k, but soon found the Sands of Time slipping away as Sandsy (also given the break) ground out a result to confirm the table not Michael's favourite - he was able to win everywhere else. The proud skipper playing as 2nd reserve tonight, and thoughts with both Steve and Johnny who have played their part this season and with whom we hope to be reunited on Finals Night.

Thanks John for your kind words. We know you weren't full-strength this year without Dick, and our best wishes for his full recovery. I had tasked my team with providing two 3-2 results in our last two games, they responded with a 5-0 and a 4-1.
Some of the gloss had gone earlier when we were eliminated from the Team Cup - so no 'Double' this time around. However, we will be along on Finals Night to hopefully witness two cracking matches, the main one a Roffey derby, and the Plate an all-Tismans Common affair.

Railway 3 Alfold SSC 2
Lee 510 Chaz 1330 Scott 3610 Malc 1370 Grant 790 Kelly 1730 Dave 3480 Mike 350 Colin 3250 Dave 1910
Game 1:Nip and tuck most of the way, 3/4 through, Lee pulled out a 600 lead then Bpd on next go! Too far behind to catch a relieved Chaz. Game 2:Scott led from the off, nothing going for a frustrated Malc. Game 3:After a bit of a kerfuffle with the handle jamming, the timer ran short. Don't know how short cos we didn't bother timing it! Kelly pleased to take the win, Grant finished with some spectacular trick shots. Game 4:Dave led from the off. Mike miscued midway and BP'd. Game 5:Colin opened out an early 1k lead before he too BP'd! Dave looking comfortable, only to be denied by a 1.8k playout by Colin to take the game and match.
A fun evening with the Alfold team with no pressure other than the usual abuse from team mates.🤣 Unusual to have 3 Black pegs in an evening, none of them on the last shot. Thanks to Nathan for the spread of Sandwiches to round off the evening. 😋
