Technically an away match, but of course Salfords A/B share the top.

SPCC A 1 SPCC B 4
Rick* 16070 Pete 100 Junky 890 Martin* 6720 Dave 5400 Mick* 8760 John* 5080 Denise 6210 Laurie 6480 Genette* 6950
Very close games, nobody took advantage of the breaks except Rick 10K and touch, we let them in all the other games, the last 3 were all won with the closing breaks, Mick 7K, Denise 4K and the best game of the night Genette with 5K, Genette started with a 1.3K opener, Laurie replied with 6.4K and touch, most people thought this was enough with 6/7 minutes left but Genette went into overdrive and was on 5.3K when the bar dropped but didn't pot on her next shot, this left Laurie 270 behind with most of the balls left, he potted a few and was closing in on Genette, with 1 ball at the top of the table and 2 left in the rack and 1 in his hand he tried to clear the table but hit his shot a bit hard sinking 1 ball and the other came of 2 cushions and rolled very slowly into the white peg, ball back to Genette and 1 break shot and the hundred and leg secured, if Laurie had kept his score he would have probably won.

I thought Karl was considered as "under 3500"...

You're correct, Karl (the bandit) had the break.

The Nomads are high on confidence at the moment as they are clear at the top by six points (although of course the usual suspects have games in hand on them) and they continued that fine form with a commanding victory against Salfords A. First up Teri, who managed to play despite her damaged ankle that saw her have to withdraw from playing in Jersey, was pitted against Dave. As is often the case, the slower Garland top caught out an opponent and Teri was off early. Dave got the balls straight back and immaculately accumulated 3.5k before a sporting touch-up. From there a fun game ensued with both players getting chances and adding to their respective scores. 1-0 Second on was Dave's tormenter-in-chief from Jersey, Jim, who faced off against Yvonne. Yvonne appeared to have said something nasty to the table, as any ball she hit seemed to spit out, but Jim had clearly been much kinder, perhaps sharing a Fosters with it beforehand. Having said that Jim struggled (for the first time ever) with the Garland break. A bit of tweaking to try and level up the top as it had been a right bugger the last few months had meant Jim had to readjust, but he did enough to secure a second leg and continue to lead the Div B player of the year. 2-0 Third on was the sober pair, Sheila and Abbey. Actually wait no, half sober. Abs had needed a few Gins to clear her head from whatever Jim was talking about and she was certainly feeling it by the time it was her turn to pick up the cue. Sheila struggled to strat, and Abs captalised with some excellent back of the table play to eek out a 500 lead. But Sheila wasn't about to give up, she came back to within 10 at the 11 minute mark and then thigs started to get interesting. With Abbeys music blaring out of her ears her touch seemed to evaporate and it was Sheila doing all the running. Sheila, though, was struggling to keep her breaks and was only 150 up when the bar went. Abs was at the table and sneaked in front, then a, well lucky, hundred dropped to leave Abs almost 200 up! But then nightmare, with the break at 310 the red went slap behind the 10... eyes shut Abs just hit it and managed to stop it perfectly... literally touching the white peg!! It seemed like Sheila couldn't move it without felling the peg but she managed to play an extraordinary shot, moving the peg an inch and sending the cue balls off two cushions into the hundred!! One more ball down and both players needed the 100 to win (red ball was left). Sheila went through the 125 hole first up but Abbey made no mistake, sinking the red in the 100 clean as a whistle, good job she knows how many fingers are required! 3-0 So that was game, set and match but the Nomads need to rack up as many points as they can if they have any ambitions of being top at Christmas, and JP was the man to extend their lead further. A shaky start saw him go on with just 450, but he soon got the break back and... drama! The white whipped out the 50 and speared into the black peg!! Bobbie had the break back! Only one ball on the break and JP was on again but another disaster, this time the white peg went down and Bobbie had the break back again! JPs blushes were spared, though, as he made sure to keep 900 next time he got them back, and a good natured game ensued with JP not looking back from there. 4-0 So last up was James and Les. Les looked the most settled of the away players on the break and duly went about making 1500 to start. The balls then were loaded onto the table with James unable to clear against his former team but Les managed an awesome 7 ball clear to get the break back and add another 1500. There was still just enough time, but James got the balls back too late, just with the bar due, and so Les pulled a frame back for the visitors. 4-1 So another win for the Nomads and their lead at the top extends to seven points over MVC B, who have two games in hand. Their lead over the South Parks is 12 and 13 points respectively (both with three games in hand) so they may still have a chance of being top of the pile at Christmas... that would be one hell of a gift for the mighty Nomads!

South Park Derby Thoroughly deserved win by the b's and thanks for the post Martin. Only a few thoughts to add. Terrific opening game by Ricky 10k opener of total 100 splits followed by 6k break finish. Who Knows what it could have been play out if not touched up. Very close last 3 games and a great Fightback to take all three. Lovely evening with the B's as always.
