Hi Everybody
I have just had the sad news from Porge that Ding Johnson died last Saturday
She reached Christmas and died at home, which I am told were her final two wishes
So sincere condolences to Mick and the rest of their family, and also to the Compasses team
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her
The funeral will be held at 1.00pm at The Kingswood Chapel, Worthing Crematorium on Wednesday 24th January
All are welcome to attend
After Ding’s funeral, there may be some players who wish not to play their match that evening
If you wish to postpone no problem, I suggest that they are played on Wednesday 14th February which has been designated as an Individual Competitions week
Just let me know if you postpone your match
Best wishes
JT

I have known Ding for many year's and she was such a great person who loved Bar Billiards. She was a stalwart of the Billingshurst League but also played for many year's in the Horsham League. She will be missed by many.
Sincere condolences go to Mick & the family. RIP Ding.

This is such sad, terrible news, Ding had been (we were told) terminally ill for a few months, but it still comes as a shock when the inevitable happens.
Ding was a great bar billiards Champion with loads of titles to her name, and was also an ambassador for the game, running both league and interleague teams with Mick as well as holding various positions on the committees of both Billingshurst and Horsham.
Is both ironic and unfair that someone who was a senior nurse dedicated to the care of others should be taken in this way.
She was beautiful, kind and always fun to be with, loved by everyone who knew her. We first met her in the 1980's and will miss her immensely.
RIP Ding. Sincere condolences to Mick and the family.
Tommo, Margo - and Duke (who will miss her too) xxx

news first posted By John T and so many wonderful befitting tributes to "Ding". I would just like to add My thoughts. Seeing and talking to Mick recently we knew Ding was very poorly but as Clive said it's still a shock now. Ding was a wonderful lady who I had known for many years and without fail everytime someone came in her company You would be greeted with a loving Hug and kiss on the cheek ( That was Ding ). Always a laugh and a smile and always There for everyone A Great player and friend to all, she will be so so missed. My condolences to Mick and Family R.I.P Ding.

Hi everyone Just a few lines and thoughts after Dings funeral on Wednesday. What a beautiful service everyone saw at Worthing Crematorium. I have personally Never seen so many people attending. The crematorium was so well attended you couldn't have sqeezed another person in. It certainly was evidence Of Dings love and caring for everyone. A lovely eulogy from one of her brothers was wonderful. Special to see so many of our Bar Billards community, as well as family and friends. It just showed what a lovely person Ding was to all.
