Another picture quiz............ Here are another job lot of ten fine antiques, and 2 points are on offer for each one that can be identified with a reasonable description (please note that just offering "clock" or "table" or "teapot" as an answer is insufficient). 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Now here's the rub - these items - or items very like them - are going under the hammer (along with many other fine antiques and priceless works of art) in Guernsey tomorrow (27th Sept) between 10am and 2pm !!! So if you want any of them you will have to get a wriggle on ! A reduction of 1pt only for Stormin' for recognising any of his own items from his own catalogue ! Good luck !

Some bonuses now attached to two of these answers. Stormin' advises his auction went well, and two of the items (similar to those depicted) went for £20,500 and £4,800 respectively. 3 bonus pts for identifying the 20.5k item and 2pts for the 4.8k one.

I've just looked back at Antiques I and Antiques II and - apart from Harry and Jill - you were the only one answering on those also.
I think mainlanders must be wary of revealing a knowledge of this subject for fear of having their houses burgled ! ;D ;D ;D

Is called a "work table" but you have the general gist: It's Victorian, and all sorts of materials including sewing stuff could be kept in that sack in the middle ! (2pts) 5. To help Tommo out and put this one to bed hopefully, here goes. This was an exceptional hard quiz for those not in the trade. No points required - Any given to be shared equally between my nearest three rivals placed below me on the leader board. (Well it is fast approaching the season of goodwill !!) 1 - The work table in our sale sold for £300 - Absolute bargain - cheap as chips - Some 19th century furniture extremely reasonable to buy at the moment. Invest in these. 2 - Is a wax jack. Our was a plated example that sold for £110. Used for sealing backs of letters in the olden days before we all sent texts and e-mails. 3 - I would say this is a Whatnot - An Etagere (French version) was unsold in our sale. 4 - Bonus points for Tommo - not sure what this is from the photo. 5 - H & J were spot on as a spiders leg table has a gate leg action. Quite a rare table - ours sold for £550. 6 - A window seat Useful items not often seen nowadays - £250. 7 - Famille Rose vases - A pair of Famille rose bowls sold in our sale for a remarkable £20,500. The Chinese are buying back their heritage and Oriental antiques are much in demand. Check your cupboards !! 8 - 19th century Silver teapot - sold £200. Silver is a good investment if bought at the right price. 9 - A well head - Essential bit of kit before we were all plummed in. Ours was a 16th century Italian version that sold to a local buyer for £4,800 bidding against a UK telephone bidder. 10 - A clock garniture - Our was not as nice and was unsold. Swopsies Tommo ?.

H & J first - No.2 incorrect (see Stormin's description below), but no 8 gets you a deserved 3pts for the very precise detail.
Now Stormin' - I know it's your subject but I'm going to award the points anyway on the basis of what I said earlier. 1 - H& J got points for this one, so just 0.5 for the David Dickinson quote. ;) 2 - Is a wax jack. Spot on, 1pt 3 - Correct, 1pt 4 - Bonus points for Tommo - not sure what this is from the photo. Why thank you, its another solid silver Celtic bowl. the one in your auction had handles and was priced at £1200-£1500. 1pt to me ! ;D 5 - H & J got this one. 6 - Correct, 1pt 7 - Fantastic item, 1pt plus a pat on the back for such a good bit of business. 1.5 bonus points (half whack) for identifying the top lot. 8 - H & J got this one. 9 - A well head - 1pt plus 1 bonus for identifying the other most profitable item. 10 - Correct, 1pt.
