Had a holiday in Dorset about 10 years ago, lovely county. Anyway, my firefox browser here at work is only displaying the following three pics:-
1. Tolpuddle Martyrs Memorial 3. Cerne Abbey Giant, or Rude Man of Cerne 6. Osmington White Horse (bound to be a pub there..)

All three correct. The Cerne Giant is impressive and often to be found covered in sheep. Also used for fertility rites on key dates of the pagan calendar. ;) The White Horse is a comparatively recent carving : it was created in 1807 by troops stationed on the hillside ready for action against continual threats of invasion by Napoleon. It is 250ft tall and 300ft broad and depicts the mounted George III who was a regular patron of Weymouth, where he employed his 'bathing machine.' I don't know of a White Horse pub nearby, though they exist in Dorchester and Blandford. The nearest village though is a charming place called Sutton Pointz, which is the 'Overcome' with the watermill described in Hardy's The Trumpet-Major.

Yes indeedy, Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, and was indeed used for the Hovis ad with the boy with the bike. Although it was supposed to depict some northern cotton mill town judjing by his accent. ;) 1pt + 1pt bonus.

Hi Tommo (I googled some of these as you will see.......)
Q2 is poet William Barnes' statue in Dorchester. His poems are used as a reference point for old Dorset dialect and customs.
Q7 is Bournemouth Pier - the scene of many a hangover curing walk for bar billiard players no doubt! I'm surprised no-one got that one!
Q8 is Corfe Castle - an amazingly atmospheric place to visit when it's quiet
Q9 is Thomas Hardy's Statue in Dorchester which is the town that Casterbridge was based on. Apparently his body is in Poets corner but his heart is buried with his wife in Daarset...aaahhhhh.
Q10 is Judge John Jeffreys' lodgings in Dorchester's - AKA the 'hanging judge'.
thanks Tony

Well done Tony, you got all the remaining five correct, plus a pertinent comment for each so 10pts. Judge Jeffreys lodged at 6 High Street West, now a restaurant, and held his 'bloody assizes' in 1685 during which 74 people were executed. Margo and I had an excellent meal there (upstairs) but the place is reputed to be haunted and it was rather spooky sitting there amongst the oak beams. Thomas Hardy's heart is indeed buried separately and the place is Stinsford Churchyard. Tommo has made a pilgrimage there and was surprised to spot also the grave of former poet laureate Cecil Day-Lewis, who though Irish-born was an afficionado of Hardy's work. There is however some doubt that it is actually the great man's heart and could be that of a pig instead. :o The story goes that the housekeeper confessed on her deathbed that she had it laid out on the kitchen table in a cloth and while her back was turned the cat leapt up and stole it and made off with it into the woods ! ;D
