Montreal 3 - 2 Kendal
I won the toss and elected 1,3,5.
S Burns 2240 - 3980 D Richings W Pryor 4600 - 2400 P Witcomb G Mechan 3240 - 1050 P Muckle M Barsby 4140 - 2570 C Darvil B Mechan 300 - 2440 A Witcomb
Loads of banter between the 2 teams as usual. No food and people from the other bar kept going outside wanting to kill each other.
Well done team especially Micky to clinch the important game. Bring on the Semis.

Well done to the Montreal for making the semis. The Brewery Tap join them after a 5-0 win against Romans B at the Dyke.
Steve Mariner came out of semi retirement to knock in a 20k break to set the high score and break for the season. Both Chris and Nigel attempted to beat it, Chris breaking down on 9k, Nigel getting 18.5k against the break. The new Dyke top is very nice.

Gary, good question, in 2003 the Windmill C were a 3rd division team that made the final. This was Chris Reeves' first season and he had a certain Glenn Chubb as team mate along with Gina Sherratt as captain. They beat Terry Race's team 3-2 in the semis (Chris beating Terry Race in the decider) before losing 4-1 to the Stadium C (Millward, Mariner etc). They didn't actually win div 3 that year losing out to the Kendal.
They then went on to win the cup 2 years laters as a div 1 team. So if you are going to go better than the Windmill as a lower div side you are going to have to win the whole thing...but well done again for reaching the semis.
Don't forget , all these facts and more can be found on my website!

In the plate the Windmill beat the Brewery Tap B 4-1 at the Kendal. Entertaining evening with plenty of banter, shame for us hungry buggers no food, but understand that was the case in the league match the previous week. Table playable if a tad tricky and slow, but did feel sorry for the Tap who have new players and they really struggled to get to grips with the top. Chris played well to beat Arthur, but the other games were always in the Windmills hands. Wins for Bill, Gina, Davee and TJ.

WELL DONE TO THE MONTREAL, great achievement and as you are not old enough top remember who played where, can assure when the Windmill was a Div Three side they did have a mostly experienced side along with one of the most talented youngsters. After the start you had to the season, great recovery in the league as well, and always a pleasure to play a team who accepts having to play strong teams and learns from doing so. Would be great to see some of you at the mainland opens, the under 25`s, or the over 50`s. Always worth the day out and the experience srtands you in good stead.
