Good night for the Schooner B where they picked their first points of the season at the Dolphin :o :o:
Gary Iles 1540 - 1890 Dave Anscombe Both players finding the table hard to get used to and it was mainly a game played at the top of the table. 0 - 1 :D
L. Hickman 1150 - 1550 Ian Grover Good win for Ian, his first this season. 0 - 2 :D
Roy Marsh 1340 - 1880 Richard Bulling Another good win for Richard and keeps up his 100% record 0 - 3 :D
P Hickman 2990 - 710 Jay Shorey 1 - 3 :(
B Goodwin 2360 - 1610 Bob Thomas Good win for the Dolphin player over the experienced Bob. The Dolphin guy looks a good prospect for the future. 2 - 3 :(
Thanks to Suzie for the fayre. :) :)

Stadium won 3-2 at the Marquis, in a match where all 5 games went with break.
In the first, Ian Lelliott had had the break twice and Neil Higgins once, with scarcely a thousand on the board. Ian's third break was decisive, however.
Nick Brown opened with 4k approx v Martin Smith, and added further breaks to finish with 9k score.
Geoff Jukes offered no chance to Tony Burgess with his opening break.
Paul Barnett was always ahead of Grant Tully, despite a slighlty hesitant start, he won comfortably in the end.
Mark James won the decider v Gary Ridley at the first attempt.
(Sorry, don't have the actual scores).

Three Horseshoes B 2-3 Duke of Wellington
Maybe Dave can give the scores but heres what happened
Game 1 - Henry off with 3,500, Chris Lucas gets them back and breaks down on 1,000 leaving the one up short. Chris gets them back again to nip into the lead with a 3,500 break. H trie again to no avail anbd when Chris gets the balls back for a third time he seals the game with another 1k.
Game 2 - Hayley break against Nigel. She starts with 600, but gets the break back and makes another 3,500. It looked like curtains for Nigel when Hayley gets the balls back again but she makes 1,500 to lead by 5.5k with 6 minutes left. Nigel makes the most of his last chance with a 6k break to level the match
Game 3 - Tupps played the Shoes the night before and wasn;t troubled by Dave Millard knocking in 10k.
Game 4 - Adam Sqires played Pete Brown, Both made 1,000 with their openers but Adam settled down the best and set up the decider 2-2.
Game 5 - Reevesey never looked troubled and made 9k with his opener to end the Shoe's B spirited fight.

Swan `B`3 - 2 Three Horseshoes.
Kevin Tunstall beat Doug Mahy in the first, chances but Kevin won through. Brian Richards beat Stuart Mepham, with a faultless opening break of 8,000 plus. Roger Taylor beat Kevin Hall, a few lucky shots by Roger to get the break back to win (sorry). Matthew Squire beat Chris Lawman quite easily, not enough local knowledge from Chris. Mal Spiers beat Phil Oakley fairly easily.
Sorry no scores.

Here are the scores Nigel.
Three Horseshoes B Duke of Wellington C Lucas 5510 4520 H Brooks H Tunstall 5570 6710 6430 N Senior D Millard 230 11300 C Tupper A Squires 5340 1320 P Brown D Jones 1550 10660 8610 C Reeves 2 3 Total Score 18200 34510 Average per man 3640 6902
Shame Hayley couldn't stay on the table a minute longer. We did the hard bit winning against the break in the first game but couldn't sustain it. Still we are learning!

I made the mistake of assuming, playing an unknown (to me). I would be safe on about 4k - when will I learn - all credit to Chris he played the table very very well where I struggled and got himself a well deserved victory!
