Roffey vs Southwater Result 3-2
Game 1- Jeff borke for Southwater on a near perfect top hitting four figures of the break. Jeff and Dick proceeded to exchange points before Dick took a commanding lead. With a few minutes left, Jeff put on a season high break of 2.5 k to take the first frame and a massive scalp.
Game 2-Chris broke hitting just 5 and looked in danger of getting taught a lesson by Obi-Wan-Gibbs. Pete never really hit form though and Chris took full advantage hitting a 2.5 break to take a solid lead. With the clock ticking by, Pete regained the break and needed another 60 seconds to catch Chris. Ultimately, the timer caught up and Chris took another huge win. 0-2
This is where the game turned!!!
game 3. I broke with a four figure break against stand-in Dave. After sticking another 2 x 1k breaks on, Dave started to play and hit a massive break to clear my score and get some much needed pride back for the Champions-elect. 1-2
Game 4- Wayne and Mick played a one-sided game. Aftermissing the break, Wayne didnt stand a chance as Mick went strolling in hitting a 10k score. Amogst that, he even managed to peg a 6k (i think) score!! 2-2
Game 5. Short of a player due to Tom (see other thread) being very inconsiderate and having a baby, ;D S'water called up Ben ferguson. Lack of match practice and a heavy hand showed as he struggled to score solid points. John though was having a mare of a match but held his head above water at all times to secure a valuable win.
Roffey won 3-2, but I feel we shook them a bit and with Tom returning the the fold and Chris and Jeff starting to hit form, we have a lot to look forward to over the next month.
Anyone coming to play away at Roffey stands a good chance if they can hit a solid break and maintain a split. The top was immaculate as always. Great spirit (and spirits!) and thanks to the boys for their hospitality.
Your report will follow Ian, but I must dash to Wisborough green now to help the boys win at pool!!!
Congrats on the win against Limeburners. Your season is going from strength to strength.
