Stadium A 3 - 2 Swan B
Half way point in the Worthing league, and tonight there was a titanic match between two unbeaten teams at the top of the table...... but this wasn't it.
Pretty good standard for the 4th & 5th place teams, however...
Scores
Martin Smith 11,520 - 4250 Roger Taylor Geoff Jukes 12,980 - 3090 Brian Richards Tony Lewis 160 - 10440 Matt Squire Mark James 10,450 - 7020 Doug Mahy Ian Lelliott 0 - 18,960 Barry Holt
Game 1 - Roger opened with 4250, not looking like he'd miss, until he did. Martin made 8800 first visit, Roger had a half chance but pegged on 800, Martin added a further 3700.
Game 2 - Geoff off at 4k, Brian didn't get them back, Geoff did next visit, game over. We didn't know it at the time, but Brian's first visit was to be the last time in the match that the against-the-break player would get a chance.
Game 3 - Matt Squire 10k and touch, first hit.
Game 4 - One visit each. Mark James 10k and touch, Doug Mahy 7 k break to the bar.
Game 5 - Barry Holt broke down as the bar fell on 18,960, not quite on pace for an elusive 20k break.
Have a good Christmas break everybody, the return fixture is on 10th January 2008 at the Swan.....

The titanic match as Mark puts it ended up 4-1 to the Windmill. The first 2 legs were very close both going down to the last ball.
Well done the Windmill and I will let bigtj have the glory of putting up the full report. The Duke will see if they can get their own back on 10th Jan

Meanwhile down near the bottom :-/ Your roving reporter went to cheer on his renamed Swan A team He must have been wearing his lucky underpants as they ground out a 4-1 :) win against the Stadium B
Game 1 Charlie Cooper off early aginst Dave France couple of nice breaks from Dave 2100-11200 1-0 Game 2 Gina Sherratt never got into the game against an increasingly more confident Ron Brewer 1120-6920 2-0 Game 3 Mick Pope did just enough against Chris Scott although Chris got the break back near the end only to run out of time 3710-3080 2-1 Game 4 Alan Messer never got going against Terry Denyer although Terry lost a 5k+ break to set up a tense last couple of minutes 1020-1900 3-1 Game 5 Edge Butler off fairly cheaply, captain Vern Blake compiled enough small breaks 2200-4720 4-1 Good Friendly evening, the Swan double their points tally Hope to be able to bring you more home reports in the near future

Three Horseshoes `A` 5 Dolphin 0
Comfortable win for the Shoes.
Game 1 - BB Reaper on first for a change, chasing Dave Anscombes 1200 opener, eventually gets the balls back and makes a nice 5k break. 5920 - 3200
Game 2 - Mal normally goes in with enough on his home top but not this time. After a 2k= opener, the balls went to the top and stayed there for much of the game. Colin Green did retrieve the break but broke down 600 short. Mal finished off. 4030 - 2870 Game 3 - Game of the night. Bob Thomas(who always seems to play me) kicked off with just under 4k. I cleared the balls and came back with 6k & 3k breaks and Bob finished off. 9650 - 6370
Game 4 - Supersub Dave Ingram had 2 steady breaks to outpoint Roy Marsh. 7580 - 760
Game 5 - Ricky & Steve Hurley had a close match, no big breaks with Ricky just edging it. 4300 - 3870
Excellent curry to follow ;D

Windmill C 4 Duke of Wellington 1
Excellent game played in sporting fashion, the bits of luck going mainly falling to the home team.
Game One. Nigel with the break against Chris Elliott. Nigel unusually of cheaply, Chris got the break back and made a steady 5.5k. Bit of scoring put Chris up by just around 6k, Nigel eventually getting to grips with the top and putting in a rapid chase, just running out of time. 6240-5770 1-0
Game Two. Terry Molloys braeka against Chris Reeves. Terry off at arond 2K, no luck for Chris with some tough bounce outs at the top of the table. Terry got another near 4k, before Chris started his chase, with three balls left in the tray Chris went for one up split to ensure win, missed split leaving one up, shot for 100 missed, Terry sunk 200 to win. 6000-5940. 2-0
Game Three. John Perrrin on break against Steve Aylmore. John started off well, but broke down at just under 2k. Steve played a very steady game running out winner 7510-2880. 3-0.
Game Four. Rick Cunningham on the break against Chris Tupper and after Rick opening on about 2.5k it was Tupper time and first game on board for Duke. 4170-5650. 3-1.
Game Five. Pete Brown break against TJ ( after some debate ). Pete playing right handed very well opening with around 3k. TJ got nose in front with 4k and then a further 5k to take the spoils. 9310-3400. 4-1.
Return leg in New Year certainly intreresting with the Duke looking for revenge.
Happy Xmas to all and a properous New Year

Tony,
I think that my score was recorded incorrectly. I knocked the black peg over whilst going for the 200 (not that it would have mattered as I was so far behind).
Health, Wealth and Happiness to all at this time of year.
