Laughing Fish 3 - 2 Brewers Bravos
Andy Brooks 5530 vs 1980 Lynne Moyes-Robb
Lynne underhit her first one-up, and the old man replied with a 1k break. After a bit of faffing about Andy got them back again for another 1k, and then another, and a final 1.5k break to reach his final score and personal best (that counts) of the season.
Les Whiteman 2810 vs 1710 Nikki Hinkins
Les underhit his one-up and I got a stange sense of Deja-vu. The rest of the game consisted of small breaks with Les getting just a few more than Nikki.
Chris Ashford 1740 vs 6350 Adam Bateup
I was suprised to see Adam off after 590. Chris couldn't get settled and Adam got in with a 3.2k break and later another 2k.
H 9220 vs 270 Spud
I opened with 3.2k, and soon added a further 2k. After a while I got them back and managed to pummel in a 6k break, only for a ball to move on the spot and I took a peg out!! (GGGRRRRR!) I then got the balls back once more for a consolation 3.5k break to just about keep my average intact.
Ray Carpenter 1050 vs 2210 Paul Moyes-Robb
For the third time tonight Paul underhit his first one-up (ironically, I ironed (forgive the pun) the table today and its actually playing pretty quickly). Both players then struggles throughout, this time the away player getting those few more points.
Thanks to the Bravos for a good evening. Despite accusations of the table playing over 20 minutes, I went on to time it at 18.5 mins. Sorry about the broken ball tray - somebody during the week has obviously shown a lack of respect for the table - I will fix it before the next home game.
Oh, and Dave - good prediction!

Greyhound 3 Eight Bells 2
Geoff Fairs 490 - 12,890 Dave Ingram I was off at just over 2k but quickly back on again to hit 8k+ break and touched up to make sure of the win. 0-1 ;D
Peter Burchell 3,770 - 4,140 Ros Appleby Peter opened with about 2k, added another 1k+ then Ros hit back with a well built 3,830 break (highest ladies away break so far this season) coming off when the bar dropped and the game was safe. 0-2 :D
Paul Goodwin 4,560 - 1,240 Trevor Appleby Originally drawn last, this game was played 3rd as Paul had to leave early. Very scrappy start to the game until Paul got 1.8k break the added a couple more breaks of about 1k to pull a game back for the home team. 1-2 :(
Neil Burchell 5,500 - 860 Gary Foster A nice, solid 3.8k opener from Neil gave Gary little chance as he was unable to get the break back. 2-2 :(
Trevor Rees 3,340 - 2,870 Tony Driver So, into the decider....Tony lost his opening break and neither player did very much for quite a while.... Trevor eventually got the break back but never really looked settled and was off at 1.8k, Tony hit 1.5k back only for Trevor to add another 1k. Tony did get the break back straight away, played the table out but ran out of time. 3-2 8-)
Very enjoyable evening, table playing really well although not set up for the split which makes a nice change and a far more challenging game. 8-)
As always, the hospitality of Hassan and the Greyhound team make it a pleasure to play there. ;D ;D ;D

Handcross Z 4, Hurst A 1
Hurst A very gallantly turned up with five players to play us. The OldFella battled valiantly in the first game to no avail, Papa Hall found the dead flat table to his liking and knocked in a good score. Boball had the rough end of the wedge with the draw (Graham against the break) and Rolly and Steph demonstrated some good shots but without any sort of luck. The Club was deserted tonight apart from the bar billiards, but the sociable company still made it a good evening.
MrMike007 5250, The OldFella 3720 Johnny Haigh 1130, PapaHall 4770 tommo 5000, Rolly Hall 800 SuperG 4580, BobHall 1080 Barry Timson 5370, Stephanie Evans 930

Brewers Droops 5 United Services 0
Richard 'jock' Jeffrey 3330 Ron 'black peg' Wales 100 Colin 'Rude boy' Humphrey 2170 Graham 'shoulder shrugging' Sparksman 1650 Lorraine 'hard work' Hall 2860 Mick 'I'm retiring' Kirwan 1530 Andy 'big hitter' Farmer 5510 Andy 'falling asleep' Short 240 (another black peg) Fred 'last again' Jones 2310 Chris 'white peg' Packham 1840
No great scores apart from the Farmer this week. :o Everyone struggled to get to grips with the table. ??? No real roll to speak of but some strange niggles around the back that threw everone, including the home team, weird. ??? :-/ General feeling was that the temp in the room, which was very hot, and the blazin radiator were to blame. :P :P
Gracious in defeat were the USC, even though the result could have easily gone the other way. ;) :D I struggled in the opener and but for the timely intervention of the black peg going over on the back of ron giving the ball a good poke, things might have been a lot closer. :o :o Colin and sparky fought out a scrappy back of the table match, :Pas did mama hall, :P with the farmer the only one who really played anywhere near as well as he has been knocking up a 4.5k break ;D on his way to 5510 keeping his average. ::) Fred again scraped over the wining line with yet another scrappy one, for the want of Chris missing and losing more than he finally scored, could have avoided the brush. ;) ;)
Another ploughmans :-X at the Brewers and great company, much barricking and good natured banter was lavishly dished out to all and sundry, with yours truly on the recieving end of most of it. ;D ;D And just to add to the nonsense Liverpool lost as well. :-[ :-X :-/ Bad luck sparky and his team, :'( and a lucky well played to my guys. ::) :o :D

Plough 2 v Watermill B 3
Mark Potter 900 Adie White 2270 Adie played a very solid game and scored consistently and Mark never had much luck with the balls 0-1
Mark Webber 2750 Mark Ridley 1190 This game was closer than the score suggests Mark broke off with about 1200 and then it was just scores of 200+.The other Mark struggled to put together any big breaks. 1-1
Keith Potter 1500 Paul Blackburn 1760 I played the break to soft and let Keith in but he did not take much advantage and it then became a game of short breaks. It got to the last ball I was 160 in front but managed to find the 100 hole to win. 1-2
Des Gasson 3070 Gavin Boyd 1180 Des played well to get the highest score of the evening.Gavin did ok and got the break back and did what I did and left both ball over the pocket game over. 2-2. Geoff Parsons 1490 Martin Range 1560 This game was nip and tuck all the way Martin played the break too soft and left both balls up but geoff did not take the advantage.Martin was 130 behind and needed the 200 to win and it just reached the pocked and dropped in. 2-3 A very good evening and a nice crowd and good food.Table was a bit slow compared to ours which caught us out playing the break but apart from that played very well. I suppose this must go down as one of the surprise results of the season.Big Norm did not believe us at first when we got back and with them winning as well a good night for the Watermill.

Jock, sorry to whine, but I find your red characters on a black background very difficult to read. Please humour the blind old git in the corner and use a different colour if you could.
Cheers.

The two 'missing' reports, courtesy of the OldFella.........
CKRBL 5, Brewers Royals 0 Kleiners were at home to the Royals, who, despite some useful scores, couldn’t get on the winners’ rostrum. Straight wins then for Ted Stringer, Derek Taylor with an impressive 7750, Peter Edwards, Dilly with a cracking 10220 and Shaky Coles.
Watermill A 4, St Francis 1 The A Team kept up their relentless pressure at the top of the first division with a home win against Saints, widening the gap to 11 points. The lower scores seems to show that the table has settled down with nothing over 4K, could be the effects of the weather. The first 4 frames all went to the home dies with wins for John Staplehurst, Big Norm, Chris Nikolaj and Laser-Eyes. The Special One grabbed an important point for Saints in the last frames, winning by a margin of just 50 points.
