Duke of Wellington 2 Windmill 3
Excellent game at the Duke that certainly could have gone either way, no game being won on the opening break with the exception prehaps of Tupps.
Nigel Senior 280 Steve Aylmore 7920 Chris Tupper 10500 Arthur Brewster 110 Chris Reeves 3540 Bill Kerr 6170 Pete Brown 6590 TJ BP Reggie Perrin 4650 Terry Molloy 5360
Well done to my team on main taining their 100% start now 10/10 and a long way to securing the first division. The balls have certainly run for us but must have played well as a team to maintain the record.
excellent Pizzas as usual and a great evening played in good humour, on a top that certainly will hold great scores if you play the right shots.

Yes well done Tony to your team for doing the double on us.
For us it was a case of missed opportunites for me and Chris, we both should have done better as we lose very few on our own table. However I was very chuffed with the rest of the team's efforts, Tupps & Pete playing very well for their victories and John giving Molloy a really good run for his money only 600 short having lost 3k earlier in the game.

Swan B 3 - 2 Stadium A
Game 1 - Roger Taylor v Ian Lelliott. Ian pegged his opening break at 1500, Roger got it back and didn't look like missing until he actually did so, at 4700. Ian seized his unexpected second chance to take the game. 0-1
Game 2 - Brian Richards v Grant Tully. Brian's opening 9700 break offered Grant no chance. 1-1
Game 3 - Barry Holt v Geoff Jukes. Geoff off at 1500, the balls were chased around the table by both players as tension grew, but it was Barry who got them back first and, although not at his very best, he stayed on long enough to win. his record v Stadium now reads, played 19 won 19. 2-1
Game 4 - Matt Squire v Mark James. Matt opened with 1500, and it was Mark who got the break back first, but he failed to take his chance, Matt didn't fail with his seond one. 3-1
Game 5 - Doug Mahy v Tony Lewis. A bit of a dead rubber, which was decisively settled a few minutes from the end when, with the scores at approx 4k each, Doug felled the black peg. 3-2

Stadium B 4-1 Swan A In Vern's text he said we were c**p!!! Perhaps Alan can fill in the details I fear Vern exaggerates they wern't that good. No that's unfair the Stadium table was being a bit selective with who it was going to be kind to!. Charlie took full advantage of getting the break back 5 times in his game against Ron to score 6K!! But a win for the Stadium 1-0 Second game Stadium to break and Mick Pope in the chair against Vern - verry 'scrappy' with Mick beating both a severe cold and his opponent. Stadium 2-0 Another scrappy affair in the next Edge beaten by John 2-1 A little better in the fourth between Alan and Dave but eventually Alan was the winner 8K-3K. But Dave had had a meeting wth the black peg midway as he chased Alan down. Stadium 3-1 Final game was won by Gina against Terry giving the home side 4-1 revenge for the pre christmas fixture so all in all honours even. Not crappy at all.
