Barry Holt beat Tony Jenner 2-1 at the West Tarring club. A very good game on a table that certainly tested your patience and concentration. Both players eventually mastering the break, but struggling to consistently leave the one up as they wanted it. The top end rather whippy and pace hard to judge.
Good luck in future rounds Barry.

Brian Richards and Roger Taylor beat Mel Spier and Tony Jenner at the Dolphin, 2-0, in what turned into a very one sided affair.
Good luck in the future rounds.

Pete unfortunately there does seem to be quite a number of people with less than one brain cell in the particular pub.
No offence to the team that plays there as I think it is a great venue and the table presents a very fair challange.

Gina Sherratt beat Tony Jenner at the Romans this lunchtimein the veterans. Well played Gina on a playable top that had enough quirks to catch you out if not careful.

Yes Tony I quite like the table,I played Vern after the singles and it does offer a fair challenge but it is really situated in the wrong place, but with the pool table in there as well the options are limited

Singles - Chris Reeves bt Nigel Senior 2-0 @ Elms (couldn't play at Gardeners due to pool match)
Doubles - Chris & Nige beat Alan Messer & Micky Pope 2-1 @ Horseshoes
Particular well done to Alan who made 17,800 in the decider. Fortunately I managed to make 18k in reply (still had a minute and half left but thought better of going for 20k break!). Fabulous break by Alan and a shame there had o be a loser in this one.

Sounds like a great game, and not many can say scored nearly 18k in deciding frame and then lost.

Thanks for that Nige. Good luck to you and Chris in the next round. I think I'll put this one down as a new chapter in my book of heroic failures.
