Hurst B 3 - 2 Laughing Fish
Steve King 4390 vs 2020 Ray Carpenter
Ray put his first 1up behind. After a while, Steve got them back for 650. Both then struggled for a while, before Steve got a late 2.2k break and the win.
Chris Kirkham 3330 vs 2940 Andy Brooks
Chris opened with 450, and then added a bit more for an early lead. Andy got the break back late on for 710 followed by 1.2k, but then Chris got a late 1.4k break to win.
John Lear 1580 vs 7090 H
Very "rough around the edges" game for me. Lowest score I've hit on the Hurst top, which seems to have a developed an inside roll it didn't have before...but still playing fairly well. I opened with a 3.7k break, thought I was going well but ended up underhitting a 1up (somehow!). We both then struggled for a while, before I added a 2.5k break plus a little more near the end.
Iang 2780 vs 2130 Les Whiteman
Ian opened with 550. After a bit of battling with the table Ian added a few more for an early lead. Les came back with a 1k break near the end, but Ian replied with 920 which was plenty to take the win.
Dazza Skinner 1500ish vs 1700ish Chris Ashford (sorry forgot to write down the scores for this one)
A very slow start, but Chris just getting his nose in front, despite pegging a 500 break. Game was nip and tuck all the way from there coming down to the last ball which Chris managed to sink after a few attempts.
Cheers to the Hurst boys once again. Don't know what it was with the table, nobody home or away seemed to settle on it tonight...

CKRBL 2, Handcross Z 3
The Legion is not normally a happy hunting ground for the Zeds, but we managed to record our first win there since Jan 2007.
Firstly may I say that the table was very good - a few quirks, yes, but a pleasure to play on. Thanks Mr Pete Edwards for allowing me the courtesy of trial shots beforehand, all very much in order.
The scores: Ted 1320, Graham 5200 Peter 5930, Barry 3410 Derek 4130, Clive 5950 -luck on my side, Del was coasting but had a ball whip back on to a peg which also gave me the break-back :o Mark 3820, Mick 3310 (Shaky got away with murder and afterwards tried his usual sting the player for a vodka and coke ploy >:(but Mick wasn't having any of it 8-)) Dilly 2900, John T 4420
Thanks to John for turning out and playing so bravely - he is due back in hospital next week for an operation above his eye so will miss the Team Cup.
Best wishes to Jenny who couldn't make it tonight (wasn't feeling too good). Get well soon, Jenny. :-*

Watermill A 4 Brewers Bravos 1
Kim Stenning:6340 Spud:1710 :(
Chris Nikolaj:5750 Paul:560 :-[
Norman Cragg:1540 Lynne:1950 ;D 8-)
John Willis:4590 Bravo:2290 :o
John Staplehurst:3870 Nikki:2010 :'(
No need to expand on this as i would just repeat myself in most of the matches - missed shot, got a beating in reply sort of thing. Stand out game was Lynnes against Norman who had a tough game. Lynne would score a few and then happily park the ball somewhere awkward. Well played to Lynne.
Cheers to the Watermill for a good evening. They played far better than us in general but were gracious victors and made the evening a good laugh.

HH USC 2 - 3 Eight Bells (The Nomads ;D)
In order of play Chris Packham 610 - 4330 Ros Appleby Ros eventually sorted the table and put in some good breaks to win easily.
Mick Kirwan 4660 - 1540 Trevor Appleby Mick showed good form and didn't give Trevor much of a chance.
Andy Short 2940 - 1510 Pam Peacock Andy won but Pam showed glimpses of what she can do in a scrappy game.
Ron Wales 510 - 9220 David Ingram Ron didn't help himself but Dave most certainly did and accumulated an excellent score.
Graham S 2020 - 3960 Rob Driver Rob drove a long way to stand in for his poorly Dad and played exactly the same as I saw him do for so many years as a team mate......fluke follows fluke ending in awkward leave..LOL well done mate you just played better than me ;D
Thanks to the Nomads for a good evening

Brewers Royals 2 watermill B 3
Jan Hinkins 1620 Sabina Williams 1880 Sabina missed her first attempt at the break but when she got it back she pkayed her best game of the season although Jan tried hard she could not catch up. 0.1
Val Gritton 1220 Tony Wiliams 1600 Both players seemed to struggle and it could have gone either way. 0.2
Lyn Storr 2150 Paul Blackburn 1550 I missed the break and lyn got it back and from there on it was a struggle.I still had no score on the board after ten mins and Lyn was scoring small but regulary.I finally managed to put a few decent scores together but it was too late. 1.2 Russell Jennings BP Martin Range 2150 This game was nip and tuck all the way through right down to the last ball.Martin needed the 100 to win Russell needed the 200 to tie.Martin missed his first go at the 100 then Russell hit his shot at the 200 two soft it stopped on the edge.Martin missed again and then Russell overcompensated and the ball went down but so did the black peg.1.3 Anne Stockinger 2180 Gavin Boyd 1440 Anne was in front all the way through and played a nice game and deserved to win. This was a game Gavin would rather forget I think. 2.3
We are back there again next week for the charity league. Good night out and good food and a nice crowd what more could you ask for.
