Well the Brewers Open took place yesterday and well done to those who put in the work to organise it, the pub for hosting it and what a success it was. The weather blessed us with a glorious day, the tables were a fair challenge and Tommo ran out a worthy winner, although yours truly ran him close missing out on glory by just 370 points. Well done to Charlie Cooper on winning the plate, and bad luck to Bob Hall in that final he had his hands on the trophy, but Charlie retrieved the break back at the last minute. Some consolation to me in winning the high break award (16660) and a bottle of bubbly, beat ing bob in the play off of the runners-up. There was a free buffet fit for Kings, and a bbq in the evening. The whole thing was competitive, but as one would expect played in a great family atmosphere. Heres looking forward to next year, and lets hope as this we see some new faces to open events. Once again well done Jock, Sparky, Adam and the ladies who supplied us with the wonderous spread.

Echoing what Big TJ has said, what a great competition and a brilliant day in general.
Considering that the event was only two months in the planning, young Adam certainly proved himself an able administrator of a maturity belying his tender years. Ably assisted by his team of course.
It is indeed an honour to win "the most prestigious event on the calendar" as Adam put it, but I have to feel for Tony as he played out of his skin all day, only for Lady Luck to desert him right at the end with four white balls and 430 needed.
Well done too for Semi-Finalists Alan and Jean Brackenridge who also secured some good victories along the way. And amongst 'new stars' displaying their skills on the day, Gary and Kurt are worthy of mention, Kurt being very entertaining with his little jumps of joy when things went as planned ! ;D
Thanks to all at the Brewers and here's to next year's event !

Well done Tommo & TJ who both played well all day & to Charlie & Bobhall.
Mick & Wendy & their staff out performed themselves what an a spread they put on. well done to Adam who got the the thing off the ground from an idea to completion, I think that places will be hard fought over for next year as it is ideally placed in the summer away from other bigger events. ;D ;D ;D
