Many of you know that my wife, Sarah has been suffering from ill health for some time now. Unfortunately she is getting worse now, going unconcious 3 or 4 times a day. Due to this she now needs around the clock care. As her carer, I have to put her first, and although my 11 year old son Joshua says for me to leave it to him on a Thursday it his not his role or place to do it. I met with my team at the Henty Arms last night and announced of my decision to stand down as not only captain, but a player with immediate effect. I have enjoyed my 15 years playing in the Worthing League, and have met and made many wonderful friends who I will miss greatly. I wish you all many successes in the future and hope to keep in touch through this Forum. Good luck to all of you in the future, and I hope that the game we all love keeps going from strength to strength. All the best to you all, and thank you for 15 great years. Ken

We are sorry to hear this Ken. You have been part of the Worthing Bar Billiard League for a long time.
All three of us know the problems that Sarah has. The decision to give up bar billiards could not have been easy one, but family comes first.
We hope Sarah improves and maybe we can see you playing once again. We will, of course, stay in contact via the forum or MSN.
Regards
Dave, Viv & Craig

I see its Ken's birthday today and, a couple of years later, wondered if anyone has any news of how things have faired for Ken?

Hi all. Just to let you know i am still prowling around. Sarah is at this time very ill in hospital. She was admitted Sunday evening and was put on oxygen as her sats were 82. She stayed on oxygen overnight but her sats dropped to 42 and she was moved to the HDU. Her sats are now at 87 but she is still on oxygen. She has very bad pneumonia in both lungs, and the drs say if she had left it another couple of days before seeing them she would not make it.

Ken sorry to hear this and hope Sarah gets better and is home soon. You are missed within the bar billiards world, and I am sure many others along with me wish you all the best.

Sarah had a bad night last night and is waiting to have more xrays done today. The pneumonia in her right lung has got a lot worse again. She is still on oxygen, but only 2% and is still on antibiotics.
