Team Ian Gordon ( Capt) Craig Mace Steven Sheard Mel Standbridge Chris Webb Joe Storch Luke Storch. Have you contacted these players Ian to make sure they are available to play, as nobody has been in touch with Steven and I think he is doubtful, but you better phone him to find out yourself, as that is what Captains & Selectors are supposed to do!!

I have been told to pick 7 players from a list of 10 which I feel the secretary should have organised to solve all the hassle. But considering Lewis hasn't spoken to me properly for at least 3/4 months why should I chase round after him?
(Fed Up) Ian >:( >:(

Might have something to do with being dropped for inter area WITHOUT being told first and finding out games had been arranged and played without him knowing about it. He only found this out through results on forum.
You're not the only one who is FED UP.

Don't wanna turn this into a slanging match but you played in same team league and inter area all summer find it hard to believe you've not spoken to each other for 3 - 4 months ?
Why should secretary be responsible for picking teams when he nominates captains. Surely that's the role of captains ??? ???

Which inter area game are you referring to?? He was dropped WITHOUT BEING TOLD for more than one. Something to do with not being able to play away tables according to Dave Gordon who told me this at Headington Con Club, must have been Ian who said that originally to Dave.

The game against Reading was played either Sat 18th or Sun 19th July don't know for definite but that's only 6 WEEKS ago and Ian was away for a couple of those weeks. How do you manage to turn 6 weeks into 3 - 4 months ?? We've checked these dates on forum entries

Slight contradiction there. One minute you're saying it was the first game he was dropped, next you're saying it was before that. Make your mind up please.

I think that's enough said on this thread as the Moderator will be stepping in. I have chosen two Captains to pick their sides and have to honour their team selection.
So please support us on Thurs and let's have a good night.
Cheers Pete ;)

He only found this out through results on forum. You're not the only one who is FED UP. It seems to me that Ian is getting the blame for dropping a player rightfully or wrongly (not my place to judge and don't want to either) but reviewing what has been said on here was not that interested to begin with ! Comment - didn't speak to the him for months when they played together Comment - Didn't know about the game until afterwards I think the real point is did Lewis bother to make contact with Ian to ask when is the game being ARRANGED for - that shows commitment not wait for the CAPTAIN to chase the players. Inter area game have a window to be played in so he would have know when it needed to be played by - did he ask when they won the previous match ?????????????? This is typical of the pool forum - I never thought I would see it on here !

I think that's enough said on this thread as the Moderator will be stepping in. Whether you knew it or not you are quite correct Pete, there are a number of moderators watching the Oxford threads, so would everyone please try to calm the situation down and would suggest 'old fashioned' direct contact would work better at sorting out any differences or problems. Please remember that we will not allow 'flaming' or antagonistic arguments on the forum.
