The new season is due to get underway in less than a month, and for the terminally curious, here are a few snippets of information: - We extend a warm welcome to new league members the Plough of Plumpton Green.
- One extra team from last year means that the divisions will have to operate separately (as ruled by the AGM "if the number of teams exceeds 16 ")
- There will now be nine teams in the Premier Div and eight teams in Division One, with three teams being promoted.
- Two teams have changed venues, ladies team the Brewers Royals have moved to the Woolpack, Burgess Hill and Handcross 'Z' have returned to Crawley and will now play as the Mill House 'Z'
Premier Teams: Greyhound; Mill House Z; Hurst B; Plough (LB); CKRBL; Hurst A; Watermill A; Laughing Fish; St Francis.
Div One Teams: Brewers Droops; Eight Bells; Brewers Bravos; H/H USC; Watermill B; White Horse; Woolpack; Plough (PG).
The Charity League will once more be accommodated into the normal framework of Wednesday nights, and teams have been drawn into two separate pools with nine Wednesdays set aside for all-play-all once only within the pools - to be followed by Semi-finals and Final. 14/10/09 will see the First Round of Team Cup games (prior to which there will be an 'eliminator' match for two unlucky teams drawn out of the hat) Some extra work to be done by the Old Fella on finalising the fixture list, but it is anticipated it should be ready for publication by the end of this month. ;)

Great stuff, although what happened to the Farmers at Scaynes Hill?
Looking forward to the new season - shame we won't be visiting some of the Div One venues anymore, but look forward to seeing the Zeds new venue in Crawley!
Will be a tough battle this year in the Premier Division methinks...
Btw, bobhall, if you are reading, how is your Hurst A lineup looking this year?

Great stuff, although what happened to the Farmers at Scaynes Hill? I was told that it was the team that is now playing from The Plough - Plumpton Green so they must have been looking at more than one venue......which is the best way, speaking from experience with The Nomads.

The registered players list is still incomplete and shouldn't have been emailed to anyone except by me. If you let me have your email address Q at wells.r1@sky.com, I'll see that you get a final copy.
In error, I emailed the list to all the MSBBL group rather that the captains group and by the queries that have come in, its obvious that a lot of players don't see the Charity Cup competition rules. It would be nice if the captains shared it around, not so many people then getting upset about handicap changes because they don't know the rules.
