This result did not really do the Hurst justice, with vital breaks being lost by several players and no luck whatsoever.............
Mill House Z 5, Hurst B 0
Johnny Haigh 2180, Ian Giffen 1270 tommo 2630, Steve King 1950 Barry Timson 3690, Chris Kirkham 1150 SuperG 7260, John Lear 2110 MrMike007 6260, Dazzler 2860
Table was 'sticky' with all the moisture/humidity in the atmos, and the pre-match ironing soon wore off and the first three games were a struggle for both sides. It had heated up nicely by the last two, though, as the aggregate scores show.
Thanks to our opponents who played the match in a friendly atmosphere and were gracious in defeat.

BREWERS DROOPS:1 BREWERS BRAVOS:4 A first ever victory for the B's over the A's
COLIN:2710 BRAVO:5210 Bravo was not at his fluent best but still played reasonably well to take the opener. Colin ran out of time when on break at the end. ANDY:1740 PAUL:5480 An out of sorts Andy was taken to task by Paul who compiled his score over the course of 5 seperate goes on the break. STEVEN COSTA:480 SPUD:4200 A bit of a needle match between these two as we are work-mates. I opened up with 2k and screwed up when on break later. Costa was unlucky not to have more as a mid-game black-peg scuppered his chances. JOCK:5110 LYNNE:680 This was actually a lot closer than it looks as Lynne was desperatley unlucky to peg a break of 2k. Jock immediatley responded with a 2k of his own and added the rest with a last minute charge. ALAN HUMPHREY:1180 NIKKI:1500 Nikki gained her second win of the season with a solid perfomance against an unlucky Alan.
As always, a fine evening on Derby night that was enjoyed by all.

Have heard that Hurst A beat CKRBL 4-1 last night..... Pete Edwards the only winner for Kleiners against Lady H.
[EDIT - Full match report added by Roy] :
Hurst A 4, CKRBL 1 A good leap up the table this week for Hurst A, thanks to a good home win over Kleiners. The Old Fella hit 5K9 past Dilly to put Hurst 1 up. A gritty affair came next between Derek Taylor and Papa Hall, and it was Papa who got the late break and the second leg. Into the third and Boball eased himself into an 8K lead. Shaky Coles then got into the leg, playing the clock out for 5K2, a good effort. Peter Edwards scored a good 6350 against Lady H to get the visitor’s only point, and there was a reason to celebrate for Jenny Edwards who won her first of the season with a win over Ted Stringer.

Two remaining match reports from the Old Fella, together with the latest League table:
Plough LB 3, Greyhound 2 Plough LB maintain a good position in the table, helped by this week’s home win over the Greyhound. Paul Goodwin opened Hound’s account with a close win over Geoff Parsons but this was cancelled out when Mark Potter took the second from Trevor Rees. Keith Potter moved Plough into the lead with a win over Geoff Fairs but a Neil Burchell victory over Des Gasson levelled it again. The only score over 5K was made by Mark Webber in his defeat of Peter Burchell to take leg and match.
Watermill B 3, Woolpack 2 The Woolpack went to The Bees this week still searching for that elusive match win. The visitor’s Steve Lathwell, lately of the Bees, took the first from Paul Blackburn followed by a Mark Ridley win for Bees over Mike Weber. Jan Hinkins won a close run leg over Lee Bulmer to put Woolpack back into the lead but Gavin Boyd brought it level with a good win over Lyn Storr. Into a decider where the Flying Dutchman held firm to take the match from Jim Blake.
Reigning champs Greyhound languish at the foot of the Premier - but for them could be a good omen as that's where the Zeds were this time last year !
