HURST B:0 BREWERS BRAVOS:5
John(900)4410 Bravo(450)6600 A close one early on with poth players having goes on break, but Bravo put on a quickfire 3k near the end to open up up our account.
Steve(0)4380 Paul(1350)6920 Paul opened up with an excellent 3.8k break and kept the pressure on with other goes on break. Steve got back on break near the end to play the table out for just over 3k.
Ian+Chris(900):3770 Nikki+lynne(1350):4070 Closest game of the night. Neck and neck for most of the frame, Lynne landed a decisive blow by popping the red in the 200 by accident near the end. Ian and Chris struck back but Nikki hit the last ball in the 100 at first time of asking to close the frame.
Steve+Darrel(0)2210 Spud+Paul(1350)8080 A close one early on but Paul and myself took what luck was coming our way to take the frame.
Ian(900)4200 Spud(1350)10160 A couple of early 1k+ breaks early on from myself was easily overturned by a 2.5k from Ian but i returned with a 6k to take the frame. Ian immediately got on break to play it out after that to finish off a good game.
Cheers to the Hurst B for a good evening in good comany although the result was a bit of an anomoly. As always, a good spread of food and look foward to seeing the same team in the Plate soon.

United Services Club 3, Mill House Z 2
Excellent evening as usual, on the 'best top in the league' as prepared by Sparky - who I believe will put the scores up later. Very nice food, can't get enough of that cheese board with the Stilton! :P

BREWERS DROOPS:5 WATERMILL B:0 Andy (0) 7650 Paul (1730) 1790 Andy was on fire, a methodical and well deserved break to put Paul under pressure. No way back for the Watermill. Jock (0) 10220 Gavin (1730) 1820 Mr Jeffrey put Gavin to the sword with some great play in his usual vocal style ! Alan/Colin (1290) 4020 Martin/Gavin (1730) 3600 The first of the doubles saw a very close game with the Flying Dutchman needing the red in the 200 to win the game - just missed! Jock/Andy (0) 6090 Mark/Lee (2160) 2780 The Droops deadly duo made sure of a good win with some great breaks leaving nothing for Mark and Lee - so mean ! Steven (3100) 4290 Mark (2160) 4210 Best game of the evening saw a tennis match of a game - back and forth and all down to the last ball - well done Steven. Thanks as always to the Droops for a fun evening - even the incredibly loud scousers (they were !) didn't distract.

United Services Club 3, Mill House Z 2 Excellent evening as usual, on the 'best top in the league' as prepared by Sparky - who I believe will put the scores up later. Very nice food, can't get enough of that cheese board with the Stilton! :P Thanks Tommo and it was an excellent evening and a real upset as no one would have expected us to win. Terry Gasson (790) 2,200 - Tommo (400) 10,760Really well played by 'Trailblazer' Tommo who used both split and potting game well to fully try out the table and Terry wasn't given much time to reply. 0-1. (sorry don't remember size of breaks ?) Mick Kirwan (1600) 3,120 - Graham Daniels (400) 6,230 SuperG looked to follow Tommo's example and looked comfortable on the top. 0-2. Terry Gasson/Sparky (0) 6,610 - Mick Holmwood/Margo (400) 2,630 Following the first 2 games things were looking bleak for us and now we had Mick & Margo with the break and a small handicap advantage, however they didn't settle and we were grateful to pull clear for 1-2. Ron Wales/Bill Boyce (2000) 3,650 - SuperG/Johnny Haigh (400) 2,880 I didn't see much of this game but SuperG lost a match winning 5k break and so with the handicap advantage and some persistent potting by the home pair meant that Ronnie/'Bilbo the tall' scraped the win over SuperG/Johnny 'Aceed' for 2-2. Sparky (0) 5,360 - Mick Holmwood (400) 0. MrMike didn't do enough on his break and I managed to put a decent break in, between some indifferent shots by us both, and Mick decided to go for the 200 on the last ball and so binned a 3k+ score with the Black Peg, and I was grateful he hadn't settled well enough on the top for a very unexpected 3-2 win The 'Z's' were gracious in defeat and we thank them for a good evening and it is a pity that we are not due to sample the food and table at the Mill House, this season anyway :'(

Cheers Spud saved me the bother ;D Bravos deserved ever one of the 5 legs, they played attacking bar billiards & did not resort to tatics, The Handicaps weren't that massive. A big well done to Spud who absoultly paid me back & some with a cracking 6K displaying 50 10's & splits all the way to a 10K finnish it was a pleasure to play you Sir. ;D ;D I'm still hurting from Lynn's red in the 200 though. :'(

These 'missing' match reports are courtesy of the Old Fella :
Watermill A 4, CKRBL 1 With the snow gone, we had a full house of matches this week. The A Team kept a strong hold on top place with a good win over Kleiners at Worlds End. Chris Nikolaj put the home side in front when beating Dilly Williamson and the score got better as Kim Stenning took the next from Ted Stringer. Chris then paired up with John Staplehurst to take frame 3 from Dilly and Derek Taylor and made sure of the match. Kim joined up with Big Norm to make it 4 nil with a win over Ted and Peter Edwards before Derek took a consolation point from Big Norm in the last leg.
St Francis 1, Greyhound 4 Saints slip a place as Greyhound visit the hospital club and take home the points. Geoff Fairs hit 6k to take leg1 from Bob Ellis followed by a 5K from Paul Goodwin over Manly Harveys to make it 2.Derek Smith and Jolene Fairs then teamed up to take the middle leg from Peter Geal and Roger Wallbank and made it match won. Manly, together with TSO, saved face for the home side with a win against Geoff and Paul before Peter Burchell hit the best of the match, 7480 to take the last from TSO.
Woolpack 0, Eight Bells 5 8 Bells move up a place after dishing out a whitewash at the Woolpack. First blood to Tony Driver with a win over Mike Weber, followed by a Gary Foster win over Anne Stockinger. Tony and Nick Brown scratched a narrow result over Lyn Storr and Jan Hinkins in the first pairs game and it was 4 nil after Gary and Posh Bob beat Anne and Alex Slack. Last leg and stand-in skipper Nick Brown beat Lyn Storr to grab a hatful.
Plough PG 1, Plough LB 4 The battle of the Ploughs took place as the LB crew went to PG and took a win which moved them up the table a place. Ron Sheridan took the first leg from Mark Webber and that was the home side’s lot as the visitors settled to a new venue. LB skipper Des Gasson took the next from Fenella Stuart, while Mark Webber paired with Geoff Parsons to beat Darren Newnham and Chase Newman. Father Potter joined Son Potter and took a win over Ian Turner and Howard Gould to give LB the match. Into the last where Geoff hit a steadfast 9K to take the final point from Dave Knight.
