Think Captain Chris will make changes after last week's humiliation. Could be the beginning of the end for the Specialone. TSO ps No snow until Monday morning

WATERMILL B:5 GREYHOUND B:0
Mark (1660) 3340 Derek (2320) 2920 A great opening game with both players putting on some scores. In the end Mark just edged it but could have gone either way..
Martin (1320) 2930 Jolene (2320) 2320 Jolene got off to a flying start against the flying Dutchman and could have won comfortably except for that pesky black peg - lucky Martin !
Paul/Mark (1320) 4030 Peter/Paul (330) 2970 A few good breaks in a great game - Paul and Mark did well to win.
Martin/Gavin (1320) 4190 Derek/Jolene (2320) 3300 A close one with Jolene playing some great shots and a very nice break from the Gavster.
Gavin (1320) 5030 Geoff (660) 3720 Cracking last game of the evening with good play from both but even Geoff's jumping up and down could not save the result.
Thanks to the Greyhound for a great evening (Sorry to Trevor about the result!) - great fun and thoroughly nice guys. At least next time we host, the tuna sarnies will have been replaced !!

Hurst 'A' 4 - 1 HH USC
Rob Hall (480) 5920 - 3740 (960) Terry Gasson Terry had his chances and looked capable but Rob was better
Pete Hall (480) 5660 - 6010 (3360) Bill Boyce Bill started well but inevitably Pete closed the gap and took the lead only to see Bill cope well with the pressure and sneak a win right at the end.
Jenny E/Hayley T (960) 6170 - 1920 (1920) Ron W/Mick K Notable for the black peg near the end but Mick/Ron still wouldn't have caught the flying girls.
Rob H/Pete H (480) 2670 - 1610 (0) Graham S/Terry G We all agreed that this was the worst we had played for ages/ever with the peg count being higher than the scores (almost ;D)
Jenny Edwards (1920) 4940 - 2060 (0) Graham Sparksman It seemed I could do nothing right while Jenny just kept on accumulating points.
Thanks to the Hurst 'A's for a very sociable evening.........pity about the result though :'( ;D

8 Bells 2 Saints 3 Posh Rob 3000 Roger Wallbank 4120 Same handicap, Saints young gun got in front and just refused to be caught. Good stuburn effort.
Gary Foster 2940 Matt Geal 3160 Dour affair this one. Last ball jobby with Mat getting 100 with his second go
Drivers 2520 Peter Geal/Bob Ellis 3390 Tactical effort from the Saints pair who boast a combined age of 162
Nick Brown/B Driver 4510 Manly Harveys/ TSO 3700 Saints always in front here until last break when Nick wiped out 1k deficit and stole it. Tears at bedtime.
Nick Brown 10580 Manley Harvey's 1280 Saints captain put himself forward for this one, tee hee, he has a lot to learn. By this time the pub was showing football first, featuring Mighty Chelsea's humbleing of the Brum Boys, so didn't see much of this. With a break of 9470 Nick must have played very well. Probably using that split shot thingy. TSO

PLOUGH (LB):4 BREWERS BRAVOS:1 Our bogey team struck again.
Geoff(610):3920 Bravo(300):3190 Bravo started brightly enough but faded later and Geoff put a game winning 2k break mid-frame to take the opener. Mark Potter(910):4740 Paul(910):2250 Paul simply couldn't find the break last night and was well beaten by Mark, who played very well for his sides second of the night. Des+Malcolm(300):300 Nikki+Lynne(1210):3580 The girls pulled it back for us with a good performance, Lynne especially playing very well. Try as they might, Des and Malcolm couldnt get on break to overturn the handicap. Mark Potter+Keith(300):1800 Bravo+Spud(300):1790 This shouldnt have been as close as it was but Mark was very unfortunate to lose an excellent 4k+ and left Bravo back on break. Just missed the one up as the bar fell and Keith cleared the balls and quickly checked the scoreboard to see he had just put them over the line. Mark Webber(300):3610 Spud(910):910 A fist-chewingly frustrating game for both players, with chances to win going begging. In the end i need the last ball in the 200 just to draw. If you look at my above score, i guess you know what happened next... Still, another enjoyably close encounter.
Well, the Bravos might have put the Kybosh on their chances of reaching the knockout stages this season but it was a mightily enjoyable evening at the Plough with a good spread of sarnies. Cheers to the Plough team for being good hosts.

The two missing results, plus writeups, courtesy of the OldFella:
CKRBL 5, Woolpack 0 With The A Team and Droops sidelined this week. Kleiners take a leap into second place with a full points win over the Woolpack. A splendid 10K5 from Derek Taylor over John Brocklehurst got the home side off to a perfect start. Dilly Williamson then put 8K past Jan Hinkins to keep Kleiners on a roll. Dilly joined up with Shaky Coles for the first of the pairs and ran out winners over Lyn Storr and Anne Stockinger. For the second pairs, Derek and partner Ted Stringer gained a narrow victory over John and Jan. The final singles saw the home side skipper Pete Edwards beat Lyn Storr with a 6k final score.
Plough PG beat the Laughing Fish at home – no details.

Apologies for the lack of details on the fish match, but I didn't play, so I have none!
