Chris Kirkham (1350) 2260, Margo (2250) 5530 Zeds off to the best possible start with an inspired game from Margo. :-*
John Lear (900) 5230, Graham Daniels (450) 7010 John, going well early in the game, put the break down four times, allowing Graham back in to make sure.
Steve King & Darrell Skinner (0) 1580, Johnny Haigh & Graham Daniels (450) 4590 Scores were level at 4k each when Darrell blackpegged trying for a ball up the middle.
John Lear & Chris Kirkham (900) 1910, tommo & Mick Holmwood (450) 4480 A good starter for MrMike, before the table got a bit clogged up. Darrell Skinner (0) 3600, Mick Holmwood (450) 8000 Sparkling 7k opener from MrMike
Luck definitely not with the Hurst B tonight, and they were without normal Captain IanG who was taken poorly. Get well soon, Ian.
No banter as such but some interesting chat, not necessarily about bar billiards. And thanks to Marion for some excellent tasty food.

MickK & Ron Wales (1600) 3560 - 4140 (790) Dave Knight & DarrenN

An embarrassing evening for me and Games 1 & 4 could have gone either way but the Plough boys adjusted well to the table and thoroughly deserved their win. New cushions ordered.

The week's missing match reports - four of them this week - as suppied by the OldFella:
St Francis 2, CKRBL 3 Kleiners and The A Team share the top spot in pool 1. Kleiners went away to Saints and secured a fragile victory. Roger Wallbank in pole position for Saints and a good win over Derek Taylor put Saints into an early lead. All square as Dilly overcame Bob Ellis’s handicap for a good win. Manly Harveys together with Peter Geal regained Saints lead in the first of the pairs with a close win over Dilly and partner Ted Stringer. A decider was necessary after Derek Taylor and Peter Edwards joined forces to defeat Roger and Bob. A solid score for Peter in the last over Manly put the points Kleiners way.
Watermill A 1, Droops 4 A solid away win for Droops over The A Team means that we have to wait until next week to see the eventual winners of this pool. The Farmer put himself into play first and gained a win over Chris Nikolaj for the first point. Jock hit 6K7 in the next to make it 2 with a win over Kim Stenning. Match won as The Farmer and Jock hit 5K9 to take the third from Kim and Big Norm. Four points in the bag in the second pairs with Chris and partner John Staplehurst going down to Steven Costa and Noddy Humphrey. John went on to take a consolation point for The A Team with a win over Steven in the last.
Greyhound 4, Eight Bells 1 Greyhound grabbed their second victory of the competition with a sturdy home win over 8 Bells. Bells started well with Nick Brown getting the only 5K of the match to see off Geoff Fairs. Jolene turned her man’s defeat around by taking a leg from Sir Trevor. Lady Ros teamed up with Nick but they couldn’t do nearly enough to stop Peter Burchell and Paul Goodwin putting Greyhound into the lead. Jolene them teamed up with Derek Smith, and thanks to the handicap, took the next from Sir Trevor and Tony Driver to make sure of the match. The last leg, a captains’ match went to Trevor Rees over Lady Ros.
Greyhound 2, Woolpack 3 In a catch-up match played on Thursday, Woolpack secured their first win in league and cup by beating Greyhound in an away fixture. Alex Slack hit a 5K in the first leg win over Jolene Fairs. Derek Smith pulled one back for the home side, a good win over Anne Stockinger. Peter Burchell and Paul Goodwin could not manage to overcome the efforts of John Brocklehurst and Lyn Storr so Woolpack moved ahead. Victory for the visitors came in the second round of doubles with Anne partnering Jan Hinkins to defeat Jolene and Derek. In the last leg, Geoff Fairs put in the best score of the match with 7K5 to defeat John, but a momentous win for the Woolpack.
Laughing Fish won at home against Plough LB but we have no match details.
