Mill House got the one point they needed to finish top of Pool 2, and then seemed to take their foot off the throttle.
But it was an excellent performance from the Bravos, who maintained a consistent standard throughout on the rather slow-playing table, and this result means that they remain in contention for a Semi-final place along with the chasing pack.
Mill House Z 2, Bravos 3
Alan Downs (370) 5460, XPTG (370) 3230 Johnny Haigh (1100) 2700, Paul Moyes-Robb (1100) 3370 tommo & margo (370) 2920, Nikki Hinkins & Lynne Moyes-Robb (1470) 3920 MrMike007 & SuperG (370) 2570, XPTG & Spud (370) 3220 Barry Timson (470) 4000+, Spud (1100) 3000+ (sorry didn't get the scores for the last one)
Thanks to the Bravos for the usual sociable, fun evening.

WATERMILL B:2 EIGHT BELLS:3
Paul (1320) 2580 Nick (0) 7880 A slow start for Nick let Paul in for a nice break to take the lead but Nick finished in fine style with a break of 4800 to put the Bells 1-0 up.
Martin (1320) 2390 Rob (330) 4950 The FD struggled to find form in the opening soiree and fine breaks of 1130 and 2150 made it 2-0 to the EB's.
Paul/Mark (1320) 3570 Tony/Trevor (1320) 3950 This was a close game with a scintillating break of 1340 from yours truly!! in response to an opening break of 1740 to Tony. In the end Tony and Trevor were too strong and made it a match winning 3-0.
Martin/Gavin (1320) 3610 Ros/Nick (1320) 2350 This was another great game - decided by the peg! Nick lost a great break to the white peg as did Gavin. The game was rescued by a spirited 1250 from the Flying Dutchman to make it 3-1.
Mark (1320) 2810 Ros (660) 2210 Great last game with Ros picking up some good points and Mark countering with the same. Could have gone either way but Mark just held out in the end - 3-2 to the 8B's.
Many thanks to Ros and the team for a great evening - nice way to finish the Charity games.

'Special' mention for Bob Ellis. Despite the awful weather and hazerdous driving conditions he made it to the 8 Bells, a week early. Lets hope next week he draws Nick against the break. TSO

Three match reports already logged by our diligent members, and three to come. Here they are, as provided by TheOldFella:
CKRBL 3, Greyhound 2 Kleiners sit at the top of pool 1, all their matches played, looking nervously over their shoulders at The A Team who have a game in hand. Kleiners were at home to Greyhound and finished with 3 points. Derek Taylor was out up against rookie Derek Smith and duly took frame 1. Dilly Williamson followed Derek’s lead with a win over Paul Goodwin to put the home side 2 up. A fight back as Derek joined Jolene Fairs and grabbed Greyhound’s first point from Derek and Dilly. All square as Peter Burchell paired up with Trevor Rees and scraped a win against Shaky Coles and Ted Stringer. Last man standing on Kleiners as usual was skipper Peter Edwards who won another close leg, this one against Geoff Fairs to book their place in the semi-finals.
Droops 2, Woolpack 3 Droops finish out of contention, going down at home to the Woolpack, giving them their second match win. No further details are available.
Hurst A 2, Hurst B 3 A Hurst Club derby close the Charity Cup for this season where the A side were at Home to the B’s. Despite a good effort in the first leg, Bobhall succumbed to the super play of Paul Jobbins who finished with 8K4. The Old Fella was completely out of salts and easily went down to Dazza who had a 6K score. Paul then partnered Steve King in the first of the pairs and steered a sterling 9K3 past Jenny Edwards and Lady H. With the match in the bag for the B side, Bobhall and Papa Hall put a good game together with a 5k score to grab a point from King Lear and Marion Skinner. A great last singles game where Papa hit a lovely 8K6 against Steve King who scored a 5K himself. What a lovely dessert.

In Pool 1, CKRBL have qualified for the Semi-Finals, whether in first or second place. Droops have finished out of contention, going down at home to the Woolpack, a second win for the gallant ladies. When the outstanding match (from the snow postponement) between Eight Bells and Watermill A is played, 4-1 or better for the Watermill would see them finish top. Whilst a 5-0 the other way would see Eight Bells qualify - in second place. 4-1 to the Bells would see qualification decided on countback of the teams' aggregate scores in all games played. 3-2 either way and the top two finish in the same order as at present.
Pool 1 table

In Pool 2, Mill House Z have finished top. Four teams (Laughing Fish, Bravos, Plough Plumpton and Hurst 'A') are still in contention for the other semi-final place, and the other oustanding match Hurst A v Plough P/G (also to be played by 14th April) will settle it for all concerned. One of these teams could join Bravos and Fish on 20pts - but only by defeating the opposition 5-0 ! Qualification will then be decided on a countback of aggregate scores for the three teams involved.

The outstanding match in Pool 1 between Eight Bells and Watermill A was played, with the result 3-2 to the Eight Bells. This means that the Watermill A finish second (Eight Bells needed all five to deny them) and CKRBL are group winners.
