Atlas 3 Windmill 2
Steve Mariner 3,800 - 6,560* Gina Sherratt A very nice opening 4.2k from Gina who, with Steve having no luck at the back of the table, was first to get the break back and add another 2k. Steve ran in a consolation 3k at the end. 0-1
Grant Tully 11,320* - 3,730 Dave Ingram Grant off with 3.5k and first to get them back to add another 5k. With time running very short, I started the chase but missed a split and came off giving Grant time to add a few more. 1-1
Geoff Jukes 16,210 - 500* Alan Messer Alan missed his first split, Geoff got the balls back straight away and ran in 7,890, then added another 8,320 to finish. Well played Geoff. ;) 2-1
Mark James 330* - 4,490 Mick Pope Mark was looking nicely settled when a cruel whip on the 100 hole left him with a ball right up the middle. He went across the table to try to just touch up but narrowly missed, losing his 7.5k break. Mick played a couple of good shots to get the break back, but then came off at 1.7k, before getting the balls back to make sure at the end. Very unlucky Mark. :'( 2-2
Ian Lelliott 10,580 - 3,440* Charlie Cooper Loads of chances for both players in the decider..... Charlie had 3 breaks and Ian had 4..... but Ian's were the important ones and he had got enough to win the game by the time he got them back the last time to run in a final 2.6k at the end. 3-2
Great company as always, some good games and lovely home baked pizzas...... what more can you ask for (well, apart from a win I suppose! ;D)
Good luck to the Atlas for the rest of the season. ;)

With Schooner winning whilst captain away I decided to stick with winning combination, how that back fired with a comprehensive 5-0 loss at the Three Horseshoes A. An excellent evening with the barrackers in full voice, both sides at some point of the evening ending with tears of laughter streaming down their cheeks.
Rick Cunningham off at 2k, KT struggled to get them back as did Rick, but KT first to do so and knocked in winning 8k. 8680-3620 1-0
Kev Hall was in terrific form and opened with 8k+, Bill Kerr didn`t get them and Kev ran in another 8k. Super game 16810-100 2-0
Terry Molloy never settled on table, was off at 500 opener, given another chance when Rick Dewdney pegged 7k+ and gave break back. Terry again off cheaply, and Rick made sure. 4790-1150 3-0.
Stuart Mepham opened with 5k, Steve Aylmore got them back but like Terry didn`t settle and off early. Stuart pegged another 3k and added a couple more. 7180-1140 4-0
Dave Anscombe off at 1k, Chris Lawman opened with 4k, Dave chased but never looked like closing the gap. Suprised that either player able to concentrate fully as the banter was at full flow. Just glad I am such a reserved guy otherwise might have joined in the banter myself. 6590-3150 5-0
As usual a very good spred to follow.

Duke of Wellington 2 Swan B 3
Nigel S 5680 Barry H 12560 Barry started with a superb break, Nigel playing the bar out with no chance.
Chris T 5920 Brian R 2570 Chances galore before Chris finishes towards the end.
Chris R 5310 Roger T 9610 Don't think it would be unfair to say that Rog had the run of the ball here, but well played anyway.
John P 5140 Doug M 5150 John off quickly. Doug gets break back puts one up behind. John gets break back and off quickly, Doug gets break straight back and puts one up behind. Duh! John knocks in a solid, slow 4k. Doug plays the bar out and last ball down the 200 (second attempt) to win by 10.
Mal S 11670 Mat 2870 Chances here for both players before Mal puts in a good break.

As a tribute to our guests and to make them feel at home the Old House table decided to play a bit like the Marine View.
The home team could easily have lost the first 3 games, but instead ended up winning 5-0.
Best game was the first where Nick Brown got the break back (against John Hayes) as the bar dropped leaving him all 8 balls in the tray and 670 behind. A very short red on the one-up left him the opportunity to clip the red into the 200 with the next shot. The break came back again with 4 balls left, but straight away he missed the right 50 (not for the first time and certainly not for the last time over the 5 games) which meant it ended as a last ball game.
