The Oxon Open is penciled in for Saturday 19th February 2011 to accommodate Didcot Con Club. I will update later.
(Also the Inter Area 7's which normally follows the Open may be changed to another venue and a different date, again I will update later.)

Pete Hi Pete There is no plan to move the Inter Area Sevens away from the Sunday following the Oxford Open. It would be practically and financially impossible to do so at the present time and I think any rumours to the contrary may have come from an overheard conversation..... :D So if we may prevail on the kindness of yourself and the Oxfordshire Association once again, we would be most grateful. cheers Tony

One of the reasons is that the Oxon Open was down on entries this year and many players won't play on both days. It's not really up to me but I suggest you contact Adam to see what he plans for next year. All the best Pete

All the best Pete Hi Pete It was discussed (between you and I for one) but it doesn't really matter what the Inter Area BBA committee think, we simply cannot afford (at the moment) to run the one-day event as it is at present without using left-over tables from another event. This situation will change in the next couple of years however and until then we would ask for your Oxfordshire committee's patience and indulgence. ::) ;D cheers Tony

Point taken Tony I will do my best to keep it at Didcot CC. Cheers Pete Thanks Pete. We (IABBA) will get in touch with Didcot CC ourselves as financially they must do better on the Sunday than the Saturday as people tend to stay there all day for the Inter Area comps, rather than play and leave as some do with the Open. It's a excellent venue with VERY cooperative people running it. cheers Tony

two points to raise ,1) as tony points out moving the 7s financially isnt an option atm- just bear in mind the current sitituation an i think numbers will be lower all year. 2) in the past the 2 competitionns being run back to back have NOT decreased the numbers of either. so as stated i think the downturn is an effect of the current climate. the numbers at b/ mouth were down this year also. so lets not shoot ourselves just yet - there are more ways to skin a cat?????

We only hold one meeting a year if you wish to call it the AGM fine by me. All the years involved with County meetings I've never known it to be called the AGM. No problem. Cheers Pete

An 'AGM' and a 'meeting' are conceptually very different

The acronym can mean what you like but they still differ conceptually. Akin to margerine and butter I suppose ;)

Can some kind soul please provide the postcode of the tournament venue? They don't even seem to publish it on their own club website. Thanks.

Why doesn't Chris Webb enter the Oxon Open? Just curious, as we've read that he's had a score of 20k more than once recently.
