Plough L/B 2, Mill House Z 3
Keith Potter 1030, Alan Downs 3050 Mark Potter 1980, Mick Holmwood 1320 Geoff Parsons 1460, Johnny Haigh 2840 Des Gasson 4170, Graham Daniels 1790 Mark Webber 1030, Barry Timson 2910
All games were won with the break. This meant a rare defeat for SuperG, but Des put in a superb captain's performance to deny him.
Nobody taking themselves too seriously, and the usual brilliant hospitality from the Plough. 8-)

CKRBL 2, Greyhound 3. This commentary added by The Old Fella :
"Greyhound moved up to third place after their away win at Kleiners. Trevor Rees hit big to take the first from Ted Stringer for the visitors; a short lived lead after David Page comfortably beat Peter Burchell to level it at 1 all. Geoff Fairs edged out Dilly to get the lead back for Hounds but a good win for Derek Taylor over Paul Goodwin left it even. Just 60 points separated the players in the final leg which went to Neil Burchell over Peter Edwards and the win to the lads down the road."

H.H.U.S.C.:2 BREWERS BRAVOS:3
Bill:1280 Paul:4220 Paul opened up with 1.5 and returned for a further 2.5 to take a good opener against an unlucky Bill. Sparky:7750 Lynne:60 Sparky was on fire tonight. Opened up with with a good 5k, pegged another 4 and finished with a further 2.5. Great stuff. Lynne didn't get much of a look in unfortunately.
Mick:4910 Bravo:1700 Bravo never looked happy at the table tonight and struggled with the split. Mick took full advantage with a couple of decent breaks to put his side in front.
Chris:680 Spud:1800 A thoroughly ill-deserved win from yours-truly. I never retrieved the break all match and wasn't scoring much but Chris suffered atrocious luck when hitting the black peg when nearly a grand ahead. That, unfortunately, was that.
Ron:1580 Nikki:1950 An exceedingly close encounter but Nikki just managed to maintain her lead over Ron with some good play to take the match.
Cheers to the U.S.C. for a good game of billiards that really could have gone either way. All the best for the rest of the season.

DROOPS:5 WATERMILL B:0
Colin 3470 John 1170 Tricky start for JW missing the break and letting Colin in for 2590 which left JW playing catch up for the rest of the game. 1-0
Liam 4500 Gavin 2440 Good breaks from both to start but Liam managed to move away with 2 good 1000+ breaks to close out the match in impressive style. 2-0
Jock 2420 Martin 1630 A close game in the end started with The FD missing the break but consolidating with a good break. Jock kept his nose in front for the rest of the match. 3-0
Stephen 1470 Mark 850 A game involving the pesky white peg again. Mark pegged well over 1000 and let Stephen take the match. 4-0
Andy 3550 Paul 2450 Paul became the 3rd WM player to miss the break - practice next week !!. AFW put together some good breaks and even a fine break from Paul towards the end could not save the WM's drubbing. 5-0
Thanks to all the guys at the Brewers for a great evening and good food. We will be back !!

Do you still get "Parsons pickled onions"? :o ;D Oh Yes, but when I said to Geoff they didn't seem so fiery he admitted to taming them down a little........I presume so that some mere mortals could eat them ;D Also Thanks for the write up Spud and a good evening in good company as usual :D

hurst 2 hurst b 3
all games won with breaks
pete lost to john i beat chris roy lost to steve mum beat ian hayley lost to darrell
This commentary added by theOldFella 20/03/10:
"Part 2 of the Hurst derby and once again the B side came out on top. King Lear hit big to take the first from Papa Hall and put the B side in front. Bobhall struggled on his break game but finally overcame Chris Kirkham to make it 1 apiece. Another big hit, this time from Steve King as he dispatched the Old Fella and the B side were back in front; but not for long though, as Mama Hall came good against The Giff and another decider was needed. Dazza to the table against Lady H and he came out on top to get the win for the B’s."
