Both the Old House and the Windmill were left out of the consolation draw by mistake, so the 2 teams (Swan A & Ball Tree) who had walkovers in the 1/4 Finals, have been put back in the hat with the other two, to play extra matches.
These matches are to be played on Thursday 19th August
WINDMILL v CASK CLUB (Ball Tree) @ the Duke of Wellington.
OLD HOUSE AT HOME v SWAN `A` @ the New Sussex Hotel.
The Semis of both competitions have been drawn and I will publish them after the two matches have been played.

I am confused. The Cask Club/ Ball tree lost to the Old house at home in the 1st round! How are the Old House in the plate?

That`s why we voted for a change in the competition rules at the AGM. As the rule stood, you could win your first match in a cup but still go in the consolation comp. if you lost your next one. Daft i know, that`s why it had to change. The two teams that were omitted was down to me, the Swan A did the same as the Old House also.

That is stupid, as it gives the 'plate' teams no chance.
Team A plays and beats Team B, Team B go into the plate. Team A get knocked out next round and return to the plate and theoretically could then play Team B again and beat them.. again. If that happened to be the final I'd be cheesed off.

I repeat what I said earlier, that is why we have changed the rule for future team competitions, namely the Chairmans cup & plate and next years` Nobby Clark comps. We have to stick to the old rule for this summer ::)

Alternatively those that got through on the old confusing rule could be gentlemanly and withdraw.

Steady on Tony, what you're advocating there is a return to old standards of sportsmanship! ;)
