Bobhall, how wrong you were!!
Laughing Fish 2 - 3 St Francis
Les Whiteman 1990 - 3120 Peter Geal Ray Carpenter 4230 - 0 (BP) Roger Wallbank Andy Brooks 520 - 7200 Shaun Morris H 15530 - 510 Bob Ellis Jim Ashford 4140 - 4180 Chris Little
Two late comebacks for St Francis in games 1 and 5. Les led his game to the very last, only for Peter to get a 2.3k break out of nowhere as the bar went!
Shaun opened with 2.6k, and it just wasn't happening for the old man, putting the break down 4 times on his first attempt, and no luck thereafter.
I'm not going to lie. I was going for the big'un tonight, and was going well on 10k when I fell out of position and missed the pot up the back. I did however add a 2k and 3k break to finish. Sorry Bob - I feel mean having not acheived the target!
In game 5 Chris opened with 2k, and Jim did well to reply with just shy of 3k. Jim soon added another thousand, and look like he had the match won, when Chris suddenly hit form (once again coinciding with bar going), and managed to play the table out for 1.7k and the match!
Thankyou to St Francis for a very pleasant first match of the new season!

Greyhound 1 HHUSC 4
I do not have the scores but our new signing Ted Stringer was our only winner. Well done United Services well deserved win.
Neil scored 7800 in the freindly singles so the table was not too bad but maybe my team selection was.

Greyhound 1 HHUSC 4 I do not have the scores but our new signing Ted Stringer was our only winner. Well done United Services well deserved win. Thank you Trevor and thanks to the Greyhound team for an enjoyable evening in good company, and of course Hassan for the good food. Unusual to have to replace all 4 black spots before the match but expect it was a kid messing about. The scores for this unexpected win :- Paul Goodwin 2380 - 2730 Andy Short Andy made a good start with a 1.3k break and the table quickly loaded up at the back allowing only small scores afterwards. Peter Burchell 1120 - 3630 Sparky Peter broke with 1k, Sparky cleared straight away and made 2.7k (thinking it wasn't enough against Peter) but the table loaded up and killed the game during which Peter unusually took out the Black peg. Geoff Fairs 1650 - 3070 Terry Gasson Terry broke with 2k the table loaded again. Ted Stringer 4800 - 1080 Ron Wales I didn't see all but believe Ted had a couple of 1k's but also scored at every visit to amass the best total of the evening. Trevor Rees 2520 - 3370 Mick Kirwan Mick missed his opening break shot but TIR could only reply with 1k, Mick then made a good 2.4k break but nobody could clear the table. The table looked good but it was difficult to clear the balls at the back

Eight Bells 3 Plough PG 2
Scores (in order played)
Nick* 10,520 - Sean Turner 220 Denise 750 - Darren Newnham* 6350 Doug 6170* - Ron Sheridan 170 Trevor 320 - Chase Newman* 8770 Ros* 3510 - Dave Knight 3130
Nick had a break of 5420, Doug had one of 5450. First four games were very one sided, all going with the break, although Sean was very unlucky with a peg when he was doing a great chase down. The last game (no pressure!) - I was off very cheaply on the break and Dave quickly took control of the game, but a mid game fight back plus a 1k break to the bar dropping got us the win.
Thanks to the Plough for a great evening (and no thanks to my team who scoffed all the food while I was playing! :o )

Hello league. Good to be back. At work at the moment so must be brief.
BREWERS ARMS:4 BREWERS BRAVOS:1
Jock:7240 Nikki:2600 Dilly:5020 Paul:2430 Liam Churcher:4590 Lynne:1060 Dereck:4280 Spud:1550 Andy:4730 Bravo:6400
Yep, the new model Brewers A team gave us a right good spanking, only Bravo and, in places Nikki, really shining for us. Always good fun on derby night however and the game was played in really good spirit. Seems, though, that some of us (red face from myself here) will need to adapt to the new top better. Nowt wrong with the table though. Cheers all.

how are the bonus points done half a point for each win against a premior side Correct, USC beat Premier side Greyhound 4-1, and Hurst B lost but took two frames off Watermill A.
