Watermill B 1, Mill House Z 4
Zed captain got his own ineptitude spot on but underestimated the competence of his teammates. A well-taken frame by the Flying Dutchman.
Mark Ridley 490, Alan Downs 5590 Lee Bulmer 850, SuperG 7170 Gavin Boyd 600, BarryT 5550 Martin Range 3170, tommo 1540 Gavin Offord 1690, MrMike007 4280
Excellent food served up by landlady Vicky afterwards: a selection of six generous Pasta Bakes (cheese and tomato, pepperoni, bolognese, bacon, carbonara etc) shared with the darts teams, and accordingly none went to waste. :P Nice evening.

table tricky at back and the break looks decieving but is a nice top not horns lodges best team so we went a bit easy with the scores in mine and petes game so they had some table time. and the last game only running 14 minutes so mama hall not best pleased.
an enjoyable night with pizza and chips to follow very nice and always a pleasure seeing a new team look forward to the re match

Eight Bells 4 Greyhound 1 Wins for Denise (1k6), Nick (6k2), Roz (5k) and Doug (5k7) and Trevor winning for Greyhound. .....and here are the scores on the doors: Tony D 1760 - Trevor Rees 2860 Denise 1610 - Paul Goodwin 1570 Nick 6200 - Geoff Fairs 100 Ros 5020 - Peter Burchell 1180 Doug 5720 - Ted Stringer 2490 The first game started very close, but a ball in front of a white peg killed off the game and Trevor kept his edge until the end. Denise's game was key, she led through most of it, but then Paul got the break back just before the bar to pull ahead. In the end it all came down to who could pot the red into the 100 hole - and Denise managed it on her 2nd attempt. Geoff was at 2900 and was unlucky to take a black peg out with a ball on the way back after trying to hit a ball behind the 10 hole. But even without that misfortune, he was always struggling against Nick. Peter had no luck at all - and thanks Spud for the vote of confidence, I think that earns you a bonus point on the tipsters! 8-) Doug struggled to start with, but a got a good 3.5k break to the bar.

Watermill B - 1, Mill House Z's - 4
Nightmare start for the Bees as Mark couldn't get going and 3 or 4 good 1k+ breaks from Alan meant the first win to the Zeds. Mark 490 - Alan 5590
Lee also struggled early on and seemed to have the same problem as Mark. Again, good breaks of 3k and 2k ensured a 2-0 lead for the Zeds. Lee 850 - Graham 7170
Gavin B also caught the 'what's gone wrong' bug as he too found the pockets very unhelpful. 1k + 2k from Barry wrapped up the win for the visitors. Gavin B 600 - Barry 5550
The Flying Dutchman played a captains game with some good early pressure and some good breaks of 1k+ were too much Clive. Watermill's blushes saved at last. Martin 3170 - Clive 1540
The Landlord (in mourning after Tottenhams display) managed some good play and some decidedly iffy shots but a good break of 2760 meant another win for the Zeds. Gavin O 1690 - Mick 4280
Big thanks to Vicki for some great food although I think I had too much Pepperoni pasta !!.

BREWERS BRAVOS:4 WOOLPACK:1
Carole:1070 Nige:40 My Monday captain had this one in the bag when the bar went, having played a good game. Unfortunately one dodgy shot sent the ball straight at the black peg in awful slow motion. I think even i swore. Unlucky Nige.
Paul:3520 Jan:600 Paul played well in patches but never settled on the break, the balls whipping out like mad. Spare a thought for Jan as she was time and again confronted with the most horrid leaves i have ever seen over the course of a single frame.
Spud:7070 Lynne:720 lynne left both short on her opener and i swooped in like a hungry seagull to put on 3k or so. Much of the rest was spent of us both trying to dig the balls out of holes. A final 2k5 sealed the deal in the this one. Usually this might contend for top score but then this happend......
Bravo:14430 Anne:230 Bravo actually screwed up his opener and missed the break a second time as well. He eventually got the hang of it and hammered in the fastest 10k break you will see this side of the Laughing Fish. He then came back for another 3k5 at the end. Anne took this very well indeed to her credit. Well played Bravo.
Nikki:680 Malcolm:4020 A slightly more gentle conclusion. Malcolm opened up with a good 2k5 and thereafter it was back board all the way, Nikki giving the pegs some punishment.
The Woolpack were unlucky tonight not to gain another point but were, as ever, a good laugh and a pleasure to play. They will also be pleased to know that we have put Bravos muzzle back on and is locked safely in the cupboard (until next week that is).

Hurst 'B' 3 - 2 HH USC
Steve King 3640 - 3430 Graham Sparksman Close game decide in last few balls
Paul Jobbins 4830 - 6060 Terry Gasson Best game methinks but Terry wrapped it
Ian Giffen 6330 - 1220 Ron Wales Ian hit form and destroyed Ron's challenge
John Lear 5080 - 990 Mick Kirwan John did the biz while Mick struggled
Chris Kirkham 1880 - 2370 Andy Guy Andy showed he is a useful addition to the team.
Usual friendly encounter with the Bees and result could easily have gone either way in 3 of the games. Enjoyed the food too :D Pleased to see Daryl looking so good ;)

I just hope that Q in Cornwall appreciates all these despatches from our diligent night owls in Mid Sussex ! :-/ :D He does indeed, I can honestly say the only thing I miss about Sussex is my weekly ( 4 times a week) get together with my BB mates. Sorry for the late reply Clive, we had trouble getting our electricity working today, those damn mules working the generator just wouldn't get a move on ;D

laughing fish 2 brewers arms 3
report from roy
The Laughing Fish keep a lowly position in the Premier after another home defeat, this week to the Brewers Arms. The usual seesaw start, with Richard Jeffrey taking leg 1 from Chris Ashford for the Arms, Jim Ashford then beating Liam Churcher to square it. Aitch hit 6K in the third to beat The Farmer but a Derek Taylor 6K past Andy Brooks made a decider a necessity. A tough 5th frame eventually saw Dilly hit 6K past Ray Carpenter and the points come back to Burgess Hill.

plough pg 2 watermill a 3
report from roy
The A Team stay in 3rd. place after an away win at Plough PG, a good scalp. John Staplehurst took frame 1 from Trevor Greenyer, a blast from the past, before Chase Newman squared it with a win over Chris Nikolaj. Darren Newnham put his team into the lead with a comfortable result over Jim Blake but the opposing captain Kim Stenning fought off the attentions of Ron Sheridan to level the match. The decider saw Big Norm get the winning point for the A Team from Dave Knight.

I've only just modified the website to make room to add the Averages - which I shall do from now on faithfully. It's hardly worth putting one up 3 weeks out of date, so the next one Roy send through will be the one.
