Mill House 10/10 to match Tuesday nights. ;)
tommo 4640 BabyGuinness 2920 Alan Downs 2230 Jenny Edwards 2080
These two frames could each have gone either way, both ladies devoid of luck at the crucial time. Mama had a peg towards the end gifting tommo the breakback, and the bar went with Jenny 600 behind and the red available. Jenny pulled off two amazing 100 shots but unfortunately potted the red when it needed to stay up for the last shot.
BarryT 950, Peter Edwards 6100
Barry's first defeat of the season came against Pete who was making up for last night - and how!
MrMike007 4070, Papa Hall 1670
Balls wouldn't run for Pete, and Mick didn't try anything extravagant.
SuperG 10,600, Gerry Edwards 980
A Mid Sussex 'baptism of fire' for Gerry.
Mill House Z 4, Hurst A 1
Nice pizzas as a change from sarnies. Lost opportunity for Boball who could have murdered this top.

Hurst B 1 - Eight Bells 4
Colleen 1980 - Denise 2330*
Off to a shaky start here, with Denise putting the break down 4 times, but Colleen didn't capitalise and for a long time it was neck and neck. Then Colleen started to pull ahead and looked as if she would win, when Denise got the break back and made a 1.6 break which put the game almost beyond reach when the bar dropped. In spite of some heroic shots by Colleen, she just couldn't quite catch Denise at the end.
Steve K 3130* - Doug 4690
Another shaky start here. Steve off cheaply on the break, Doug got the balls back, only to be caught out by an odd kick off the cushion to miss a ball when he was on about 2k. In the end, both players had the break several times, but no huge breaks were made. Doug made sure with a 2k near the end of the game.
Darrell 1120 - Ros 3610*
I was off cheaply at about 500. We both struggled after that, with very small scores going up. I finally managed to get the balls back and got a 2740 break to take the game almost to the bar, which made sure of it.
Ian* 780 - Nick 12,420
Ian off cheaply, then Nick got the balls back, but was also off cheaply. Both players struggled to pot anything much for a while (are you starting to see a pattern here?!) Then Nick got the balls back and made a great 11,280 break to play the table out.
Chris K 2650 - Tony D* 130
Tony off for a few hundred on the break. Again, both players struggled for a while, then Chris pulled ahead steadily to open up a 1k lead. Tony was finally undone trying to move a ball by the baulk line and taking out the black peg - and, as is so often the case, absolutely nothing would go down for him after that.
I'm not sure why we all made such hard work of it - there was nothing wrong with the table, apart from perhaps a fractional right roll and slightly whippy pockets.
Smashing evening with Ian and co - always a good night. Ian put on a nice buffet for us and it was lovely to see Darrell on his feet without crutches and able to play again. I consider myself rather fortunate that he was out of practise!

BRAVOS:3 ST:FRANCIS:2
Bravo:4490 Peter:250 Spud:3560 Chris:2610 Lynne:2090 Bob:3010 Nikki:1300 TSO:5840 Paul:4370 Roger:800
Did it in reverse this week. Bravo was more subdued than normal, a hard working 3k break taking the opener, Peter unlucky to black peg mid-frame. Chris had me on the ropes in the second but i scrambled the break back a couple of times to take the second. Both players played well in the third, but Lynne never retrieved the break, Bob making sure of the frame. Nikki, despite doing the draw herself, was once again drawn against TSO, who rather enjoyed the table and played it well. Down to the decider and Paul made sure of the win with some solid play against an unlucky Roger.
Very nice evening with St. Francis as always.
Cheers all

Woolpack 2 -3 Laughing Fish
Malc beat Chris Jan lost to Andy Anne lost to Jim Nigel lost to Me Lyn beat Ray
I hit 7k. Could've been a lot more, since the table was playing nicely, other than being quite downhill, but there was no call for it tonight.

Watermill B - 3, Horns Lodge - 2
First game saw The Pub Landlord take on Mick. Some good breaks from TPL kept the pressure on and claimed a good start for the Bees. 1-0 Gavin O 3600 - Mick 1490
Game two saw yours truly and Geoff battling out in a reasonably tight game. Geoff was unfortunate to BP at the end which was not deserved. 2-0 Mark 2490 - Geoff BP
Gavin B took on Dave for the third game with some good breaks from Dave and Gav struggling a bit made the match 2-1. Gavin B 1640 - Dave 2380
Fourth game saw Paul against Kevin. Paul was unlucky to WP a good 1k+ break at the start . Good break from Kevin left Paul needing the 200 to win - unfortunately found the BP instead ! 2-2 Paul BP - Kevin 2140
All on the last game between The Flying Dutchman and Tom. Both players struggled early on finding the WP a bit of a magnet but some good play at the end from both players, TFD did well to hang on for a good result. 3-2 Martin 2500 - Tom 1180
Many thanks to Vicky for the Pasta (particularly liked the cheese and bacon one!) and to Dave and the lads for a good evenings entertainment.

Plough LB 4, Brewers Arms 1 (report from the Old Fella) A very welcome win this week for Plough LB at home against The Brewers Arms. A good opening frame between Steve Whyte and The Farmer saw the Plough get the first point on the board and a subdued Dilly was no match for Keith Potter and the home side went 2 up. Derek Taylor won the third to bag the Brewers side only point as Geoff Parsons won a low scoring fourth against Allen Humphries and Mark Webber took the last from Trevor Greenyer
Greyhound 3, Watermill A 2 (report from the Old Fella) The A Team and the Greyhound met at the Keymer venue where the hosts took the win. Trevor Rees lost the opener against Geoff Rose to give the A Team the lead but Geoff Fairs levelled things with a win over John Staplehurst. Frame 3 was a close run affair with Kim Stenning scraping home against Ted Stringer. Neil Burchell brought the decider into play, taking the 4th frame from Chris Nikolaj and a Peter Burchell win over Big Norm in the last kept the points at home.
