If I had played well, and scored another 8k, I would have got 12k Off to bedders. Goodnight All Shaun's wit never ceases to amuse me! Laughing Fish 3 - 2 HHUSC Ray Carpenter 1630 - 1140 Ron Wales Les Whiteman 1690 - 1760 Sparky Andy Brooks 3040 - 1130 Mick Kirwan H 14, 800 - 1060 Andy Guy Chris Ashford 1580 - 5500 Terry Gasson After a slow start to the match, I managed to settle into the table (after missing my first break!). Still a very slow cloth, not ideal, but playable! Thanks to the USC for a very enjoyable evening.

What a match this was!
Brewers Arms 1, Mill House Z 4 Frame 1. Trevor Greenyer 1480, Alan Downs 7350 Alan scoring well on each visit and Trevor having no luck. So far so good, we thought.
Frame 2. Richard Jeffrey 7410, Mick Holmwood 7550. Sir Jock pegged on his first two visits, allowing Mick to fill his boots. Sir Jock then made an incredible break of 7410 in six minutes, perfect splits throughout, but missed the last 100 shot - which a grateful Mick potted.
Frame 3. Dilly Williamson 3860, Barry Timson 3840. Sanity restored in a good cut-and-thrust game. With the bar gone and Barry a couple of hundred in front, he tried to lose the red and had the peg in doing so. A grateful Dilly mopped up and sank the 100 to win.
Frame 4. Derek Taylor 5840, tommo 6140. Also cut and thrust, and Del made 2k towards the end to come right back into contention. After tommo failed to put it beyond reach after the bar, Derek could have tied with a last-ball 200 but tommo potted the 100 at the second attempt.
Frame 5. Andy Farmer-Wright 5510, Graham Daniels 7160. Andy made all the early running and had a 5k advantage when Graham finally got his head down, and played out time with one magnificent break.
So, seven scores of 5k or more...................three games won on the last ball................most of the luck going to the away side. 8-) Best table in the league, a pleasure to play on........... But watch these Brewers boys go once they get a bit more used to it! :o
Good company, great pizzas and potato wedges. Thanks for a great match. Jock received a deserved round of applause for his magnificent comeback under great pressure.

Eight Bells 4 Brewers Bravos 1
For once the draw worked in our favour. If you wanted to draw the players to have as even a match as possible, you would probably draw it this way. With home advantage, we managed to grab 4 from 5 ;D
Doug 5960 - Adam*2540 Adam started with 900, Doug replied with 1k after a kick sent both both balls in a strange direction. Doug gradually pulled ahead and finished the game off with a 2k to the bar.
Trevor 3410* - Lynne M-R 650
A welcome return to form by Trevor, who, after a shaky start, scored consistently to take this one. Lynne having no luck at all.
Rob 790 - Spud* 1150
The battle of the pegs! Spud under hit the break, then neither player seemed to want to keep a score. Spud got the balls back, just as the bar went, to play the table out for the win.
Denise* 2720 - Nikki 1130
Denise was off cheaply for her opening break, but Nikki failed to capitalise. Denise just played accurately and moved further and further ahead to take the game and the match. 8-)
Ros 4660 - Paul M-R* 1860
Paul put his one up behind and although I didn't get the balls back, I did open up a lead. It was a night where, although I got a few really good long pots, my 50s were not as accurate as they normally are: I kept getting the break back and then giving Paul another chance! But a 1.5k to the bar made the frame safe.
A good evening, with lots of banter. Thanks to the Bells for a lovely sweet Chilli con Carne 8-) (I reckon it was made with sweet Chilli sauce, which made it sensational!)
....and if I'd played properly each time I got the break back, I'd have had 12k too! ;)

Thanks for doing the honours Ros, my laptop is currently being repaired at the moment. Fair to say that we didn't play a blinder last night and i was shocked when i got back to the Brewers to see that Jock had lost with a score that was more our combined total for the evening! :o Funny old game really.
Nice to see that the Brewers top is back to near where it used to be. Some seriously impressive games by the looks of it.

A bit late as was out baby sitting last night. Plough PG 4 Hurst B 1
Jan Bithell 4400 Chris Kirkham 1870 Jan made the most of it when Chris left the 1 up short. Darren Newnham 6810 Iang 2160 Nice 5K opener from Darren I managed to get the break back near the end but it was too late. Dave Knight 8280 Steve King 1040 Steve off early not a wise thing against Dave Chase Newnham 4200 Colleen Park 1320 Again Chase did enough on the first break & kept getting the break back. Ron Sheridan 3680 John Lear 5010 Thank heavens for the King who played really well with the 50 100 shot
No doubt about it the Plough played well & deserved the win a good night.
Only just found out that Ian & Mary have retired & are no longer at the Plough :( :(
