Tony, will you be publishing a list of contact numbers, both for the players as well as the venues? I am sorry to say I have no idea who my opponent is or how to contact him. P.S. Please can you spell my name correctly - it's "ei" not "ie" ;)

Please could players in the Mixed Doubles record the scores of their matches as Ranking Points are awarded in this competition. Many thanks, in anticipation. ;)

Captains Colin Southouse beat Ros Appleby 2-0 50+ Stuart Chant beat Dog Mahy 2-1 The defending champion (from the last time this competition was played in 2002) falls at the first hurdle...... :o .....I expect that Doug felt a bit "ruff" after that...... ::) ;D ;D

I think you'll find that Paul Barnett is the defending champion. He won the Seniors title once, if not twice, and still has the trophy at home. He keeps rabbiting on that since reaching 50 he is unbeaten in this competition, so hopefully someone will shut him up this year :) ;)

I believe that you had won the competition yourself the previous year to that. 8-) If Paul Barnett has the trophy at home, perhaps he could provide details of the previous winners and the year that they won the competition which would enable me to update the records on the website? ;)

Mixed Pairs Quarter Finals Play By Sunday 6th March 4 Kev Hall/Sandra Race v Dave Ingram/Colleen Park Hurst Arms Eastbourne Terrific match tonight in the mixed doubles at the Hurst Arms in Eastbourne...... 8-) Game 1 - Part 1 Colleen & I won the toss and put Sandra in first, she pulled the bar and found 4 white balls only in the tray. Balls put down the table pockets didn't offer any more balls and, with the top up, we established that the rest of the balls were definitely missing. :o A brief search around the pub, including comparing the sizes of the pool table balls, eventually located the missing balls and we decided to start again.... ;D Game 1 - Part 2. Sandra opened with just under 1k and Colleen's excellent 3 ball clearance shot and useful break in reply put us in front. Kev didn't get the break back, I did a couple of times and we took the first game. :D Game 2 Colleen's turn to break and she opened with just under 1k, I had a good chance to extend the lead but missed a split. The balls then went into awkward places for a while before Sandra got the break back and made a good 3.5k break to level the match. :D Game 3 - Part 1 We won the toss again and I elected to break first..... had a couple of awkward moments but played the table out for 14,960 to give Kev a good target to chase. 8-) Game 3 - Part 2 Kev had a few dodgy moments early, including missing one ball on his second break shot, but after that he settled down, made all the right choices on the split shots and managed to chase down my score and touch at just over 15k with just under 2 minutes to run. 8-) ;D Superb to watch, very well played to them both and we wish them the very best of luck in the next round. ;D ;D Many thanks to the Hurst Arms for their hospitality and for going out of their way to make us welcome..... on a busy Friday evening, the landlord made sure that the area around the table was kept clear for us and locked the door to the garden area to prevent people going past...... 8-) Also many thanks to one of the Eastbourne players who kindly scored the games for us...... ;D very much appreciated - I think it was Nigel Pead, although I forgot to ask his name. ::) :-[ :-[

Going from the draw it was always going to be a good match Bad Luck to Dave & Colleen, I think in almost 99% of games 14960 would have certainly sealed the match. Chunky Monkey must have played a supurb game on a strange table to reply & win. Well done to Kev & Sandra.

It's not been Dave's week.......yesterday in a single leg game in the Oxford Open he lost the toss and the opponent (Pete Phillips from Hastings) scored 10k and touched up. I would have been tempted to shake hands there and then, but - fair play to him - the Warrior made a fine 8000 break in reply. :o

Barney beat TJ 2-0 on a very good Royal Oak table this evening, thanks to Niel for scoring for us. Nice venue and although the toilets are near the table the locals are very respecful of you whilst you are playing.

TJ and I beat Doug and Denise 2-0 tonight.
Doug fell victim to the roll of the table to lose a frame winning 3k break on the first. After that they had no luck at all.
Nice old fashioned village/town centre pub, who made us very welcome. Table was interesting, with two possible places that the white ball would legally spot. Thanks to Trevor for scoring. 8-)
