United Services 0, Mill House Z 5
Tough match on a nice table, with good cushions but very fast - and because of this presenting a challenge to both teams. Could easily have gone 4-1 the other way.
Terry Gasson 3230, Graham Daniels 5040 Terry pegged what might have been the winning break towards the end, which handed a relieved Graham the break back. Graham Sparksman 1650, Mick Holmwood 3180 Strangely, it took both players ages to reach a thousand, as the table got loaded up. Mick's persistence paid off towards the end when he finally got the break back. Mick Kirwan 1690, Barry Timson 3550 Barry's type of table as he ground out the result. Ron Wales 1400, Alan Downs 1730 Ron had the best of the early exhanges but Alan somehow managed to get over the line. Andy Guy 3050, tommo 3420 Andy played beautifully throughout and tommo, always under pressure, never able to settle (missed the 'Cambridge split' twice and lost a big break towards the end by forgetting to put right-hand-side on the one-up). Was rooting for Andy myself but he gave me one last chance, and with the bar gone I had 1500 going and needed to pot the last six whites on the break to win. Got a vicious kick and Andy then needed to pot one, leave one up and pot 200 to win. He pegged and that was that. Unlucky Guy. Hoots of derision from tommo's team mates, who have labelled him 'lucky CliveTurner'. ;D
Some very nice food including the sausage rolls made with cheese pastry. (Thanx to Mrs Gasson).

BREWERS BRAVOS 3: GREYHOUND:2
Nikki:1520 Paul:2860 Nikki fought well and Paul was having trouble missing the pegs but he put in a a late winning break to take this one
Bravo:5830 Trevor:910 Bravo opened up with 2k and then pegged a further 3k to let Trevor in but the balls would not go for him. Until he potted the last three balls in the 200 in three shots. THAT was impressive.
Lynne:2520 Peter:2000 Peter was going well early on but pegged a 2k5 to leave Lynne in. Lynne knocked in a nice 1k7 and sat tight at the back to take a good frame.
Spud:5100 Ted:1080 Both of us struggled at the back for a long time. A late 2k5 break took this one from an unlucky Ted.
Piers O'Sullivan:2270 Geoff:4380 Geoff took this one with a very well worked 3k break but our shiny new signing proved he was no mug and played some good shots in the course of the frame.
Peters peg book of doom had new chapters enscribed in it tonight, the Greyhound team having very little luck tonight. A very pleasant evening all told nonetheless.
Cheers all

Watermill B - 2, Watermill A - 3
Paul 1210 - Big N 4080 Good opening break from the Big N meant Paul was playing catch up for the rest of the game.
The Flying Dutchman 2110 - Chris 2930 A close one this with TFD having a few good chances, but some nice play from Chris saw this one out.
Brighton Gav 1410 - Geoff 2070 Gavin found it a bit o=f a struggle and had some good chances, one of those nights. Nice play from Geoff sealed the win for the A's.
The Pub Landlord 4260 - John 400 TPL (Gavin) played some great shots, some a bit lucky ! but managed his best score of the season. John did not really get a look in.
Mark 3140 - Kim 3000 Kim got off to a flying start with a good opening break but then let Mark in too many times. Mark managed to play the table out at the end to win a very close game - big up ME !!!
Thanks to the A's for a good fun evening and to Gavin and Vicky for the munchies - that pepper sauce was bloomin hot !!

Saints 1 Brewers Arms 4 From memory Neil Henry lost to AFW Neil rusty and lost most of what he scored early on. AFW only steady at best, but that was good enough.
TSO beat Alan Humphries TSO was pretty awful, losing quite a lot of his score, Alan never got into the game. #
Manly lost to Dilly Both struggled early on and lost score. Dilly got the hang of it later on and got a few.
Peter Geal lost to Jock Jock also got the hang of it late on and scored 4.9k I think. Note to Tommo and BBW, Jock said he 'LOVED ' the table
Foggers lost to Derek Foggers rusty and in pain, Derek very good, 5 or 6k I think.
Since ripping apart the 8 Bells, Saints have gone into free fall. The captain has 'lost it' and must go was the call last night. Exprez

Horns Lodge 2 Woolpack 3 - per Roy. Woolpack achieve what the Zeds couldn't! :o
"Woolpack secured another valuable win, this week away to the Horns Lodge. Dave Tiffin put the Lodge in front, taking frame 1 from Anne Stockinger but a Nigel Bransby victory over Lodge’s skipper, Kevin Stevens, made it 1 apiece. The best of the match came from Malc Fuller as he put 5K past Chris Farrow to restore Woollies lead, but a Geoff Winson win over Jan Hinkins meant it was all still to play for. A good frame for John Brocklehurst against Roger Dudman gave Woollies this most important victory."
