Wow, Rob, that's impressive. Especially as you singlehandedly scored more or less the same as the Plough team put together - and they are second in the League.
Congrats on a Personal Best.
tommo
PS Bizarrely, once again all matches won by the home teams! :o

Mill House Z 4, Hurst B 1
in order of games played...................
Johnny Haigh 2370, Ian Giffen 3110 Barry Timson 3210, John Lear 1820 Alan Downs 2900, Chris Kirkham 2160 tommo 8580, Darrell Skinner 170 Mick Holmwood 4620, Steve King 2310
Bizarre match, result could have gone either way - especially after Ian's fine start, and the next two games being far closer tan the scores would seem to indicate.
A good evening with our former stablemates. ;)

A good evening with our former stablemates. ;) We entered the lions den with brave hearts & left 2 hours later battered & bruised. it is fair to say that all 10 players had trouble at some point with getting the pace right even the mighty Tommo struggled with the break at first but then went on with succesive breaks to get to 8500. Wel played T' Mill & the evening was rounded off with some very nice Pizza & chips.

Brewers Arms 3 - Eight Bells 2
Jock 3030 - Ros 1750
Dilly 4320 - Denise 1780
Trevor Greenyer 1440 - Tony D 2290
The Farmer 6860 - Doug 4700
Derek 1420 - Nick 3780
I was off cheaply, Jock got the balls back immediately for 2k. The table got loaded and I couldn't clear, with both of us struggling to pot a ball at the back.
Dilly also off very cheaply, Denise gradually pulled ahead, but Dilly managed to clear late on and got a decisive 2k.
Tony went too thin on the opening break shot and play went to the back. Tony then managed a series of his trademark 100 shots, giving him a very useful 700 break to take an early lead. Nothing went right for Trevor, who seemed to have a peg at every turn. A 1k break for Tony put the game beyond Trevor's reach, although Tony did play some rather ambitious shots after the bar that had his team mates worrying! ;)
Both players on the fourth game managed to keep play mostly to the front end of the table, where it was friendlier. There were no big breaks, with each player getting the balls back about 4 times. The Farmer was in control of the table with about 2k when the bar was due.
Nick opened with under 1k, then both players struggled at the back for a while. Nick pulled ahead with a couple more 1k breaks. Derek was just about 1.9k behind when he managed to clear, he got to 1.9k with the bar almost due and then pegged. A grateful Nick cleared up the balls as the bar dropped.
Table very sluggish tonight, with the home players struggling too, although it ran on a little better as it warmed up. With a clock that runs 20 minutes and players of this standard, I would have expected to see more than one score over 5k.
An enjoyable evening, as always with this team. Thanks to the Brewers for some very tasty and well filled sandwiches, served with chips. 8-)

Details of the other matches, courtesy of the Old Fella:
Watermill A 4, St Francis 1 Watermill A kept in touch with Plough thanks to a hearty win over Saints at home. First blood to the visitors as TSO beat Big Norm but it was then one way traffic as Geoff Rose scraped a win over Foggers and Chris Nikolaj beat Peter Geal. A 7K from Kim Stenning won the match from Bob Ellis and the last frame went to John Staplehurst with a win over Manly Harveys.
Laughing Fish 3, Horns Lodge 2 Laughing Fish met with their near neighbours, Horns Lodge, this week at home. Aitch went off with an 8K against Dave Tiffin and a confortable win for Andy Brooks against Tom Massey saw the Fish go 2 up. Ray Carpenter won the third leg and the match, beating Roger Dudman. Kevin Stevens came back well in frame 4 to narrowly beat Les Whiteman and Geoff Winson put his side’s best score past Chris Ashford to make it 2 valuable points for the Lodge.
Plough L/B 4, Brewers Bravos 1 A poor result for Bravos keeps them mid-table in division 1 whilst the good home result for Plough LB still sees them at the bottom of the premier. A fine start for Plough with a 6k from Mark Webber to beat Lynne M-R and Keith Potter kept up the pressure, taking frame 2 from Piers O’Sullivan. Paul M-R produced some good billiards to take the next for Bravos from Kieran Budd but the win went to Plough when Geoff Parsons beat Adam Bateup. A 7K from Steve Whyte in the last leg to beat Nikki Hinkins put the cherry on Plough’s cake.
