Next Spud..... Must be very brief here. Hurst A 3 Plough (PG) 2The scales eventually come down in favour of a 3-2 home victory The scales were correct..... 2 points. ;)Brewers Arms 3 Eight Bells 23-2 home win with 3 5k plus and one 5 figure score on the night for both teams 2 points for the correct result.... but only 1 score of more than 6k so hardly worth a bonus. Watermill A 4 St.Francis 1Home victory, probably 4-1 That will be 2 points then.... probably. ;DGreyhound 5 Watermill B 0Another 4-1 home victory 1 point for the home win.Plough (LB) 4 Bravos 1My attempts to get out of a turgid work do tonight have sadly failed. My team won't miss me and will win 3-2 It looks like they did miss you.... no points. :'(Mill House 4 Hurst B 1Hurst will narrowly fail to storm the fortress. 3-2 to the house. Fortress Dodgy Table remains intact.... 1 point for the home win. ;)Woolpack 4 USC 1The servicemen to take this one 3-2. Oh no they didn't..... no points. :(Laughing Fish 3. Horns Lodge 2The fish to take this one 4-1 1 point for the home win...Ta Ta Points so far.... 9.0 + 1.0 Special Bonus = 10.0

And last, but not least, IanG.... 8-) Hurst A 3-2 PPG Still sticking with our stable mates at least 1 away player to put them down 4 times Bobhall to play DARREN. 2 points for the correct result, a bonus point for Bobhall winning and another for Darren, who although he avoided Bobhall, the result was the same. ;DBrewers Arms 2-3 8 bells Sir Jock goes large if he plays in the first 3 anything after that forget it hic. AFW takes out Swan mennace A 3-2 home win means no points, but a bonus point for humour. Sir Jock won (but not with a big hit) and AFW did beat (one of the) Swan Menace so 3 bonus points in total. :DWatermill A 4-1 St Francis spesh wows the crowd with his wonderfull display of wizardry & accurate potting skills Away team complete 3 laps of the beer pumps 2 points for the correct result, Spesh earns you a bonus and another bonus for the laps. ;Dgreyhound 4-1 Watermill B Peter B hits big & other Gavin for the B's A 5-0 home win earns you 1 point, Peter B gives you a bonus. ;)Plough LB 2-3 Bravo's even with a weakened side as spud takes a rest after last night's brilliant effort in Horsham Team cup taking out silverfox ;) Paul MR & Nicky for Bravos, Geoff & Mark for Plough ( boring & safe ) No points for the result, PMR, Mark and Geoff earn you 3 bonus points for their wins, although it was a bit harsh to call Geoff boring! :o :o ;D Mill House 2-3 Hurst B We owe them a couple so will stick my neck out & go with my team to pull it off, thats if Tommo can get the cover off the table & it has warmed up from being out in the cold & damp. No Super G tonight but still pleanty of big hitters. I predict that the Hurst will field an all male team tonight ;D DARRELL will do well on his first visit to this top this season. Oh dear, a 4-1 home win means no points here, only 1 x 5k+ score on this dodgy top so the big hitters were quieter than usual, I noted the "desperate"attempt to claim a solitary bonus for predicting that Hurst will field an all make team.... but nothing doing there either. :P ;DWoolpack 2-3 USC no big scores tonight here but big Nige will triumph A 4-1 home win means no points for the result..... but a win by Big Nige has extreme rarity value and earns you 5 bonus points! :o ;D ;D ;DLaughing Fish 4-1 Horns Lodge Andy Brooks to continue his good form & Jim Asford joins in I hope BBW dosen't dock too many points. can we have a table for the 2nd half as I have no chance of catching up all you others 1 point for the home win.... and a bonus point for Andy who did continue his winning ways.Points so far..... 24.0 + 1.0 Special Bonus = 25.0

On another note, having just been preparing the table for tonights match, I decided, since it was ironed on Sunday, just to block the table for this evening, and as a result, I think I have discovered why it is so poor. As I approached the pockets with the blocker, the cloth would literally rise up in a ripple - im fairly sure that means it is FAR FAR FAR too loose. LOL - Laughing Fish table needs "BOTOX" injections to get rid of some of the wrinkles. ;D

Albert Pierpoint was following a family tradition, father Henry and uncle Tom both being top ropesmen. I think Albert, who did for John Haigue, outscored them both. He was pretty busy after the war with former concentration camp guards, comandants etc. Mad Dog

He also did for Derek Bentley("Let him have it, Chris") and Timothy John Evans (convicted instead of Christie), both of whom received posthumous pardons for their alleged crimes. Pierrepoint later became an opposer to capital punishment except in the case of premeditated murder.

Quite right Tommo. He hung someone he knew, who had killed a women in a fit of jeliousy, and felt capital punishment was not a deterant in most cases. Ruth Ellis was another of his. Very fast worker, could get them from cell to dead in about 12 seconds in some nicks. MD

From what i can gather the results of the match were: Paul beat Kieron Bravo lost to Geoff Lynne lost to Mark Webber Piers lost to Steve Whyte Not sure who Nikki lost to. Maybe the Plough Spud. Brewers Spud had a totally poo time as predicted but seemed to choose a good night to have off. It has never been a happy hunting ground for the Bravos (or indeed the eponymous captain).

Time to add the "special" bonuses for last week.... 8-) H showed that he wasn't afraid of admitting that he had been "beaten"...... ::) Can I just congratulate Darren for being the first person in 3 years of playing Mid-Sussex to defeat me. He broke off with 5.5k, I couldn't get them back, he did and added another 3k before I played the table out for 4k. Great game, and its lovely to lose for once without feeling the need to beat myself up. Very well played Darren and his whole team last night, on a very nice table! Although other people seemed to think that "losing" was the same as being "beaten"..... :P Yes I have lost 2 games previously, but that is the first time I have been BEATEN... ......apart from in the Team Cup Final last year. ;D ;D ;D ......apart from in the Team Cup Final last year. ;D ;D ;D ...... and the Mens Singles the year before. ::) :P ;D ;D ;D Blimey! One of my favourite pastimes is logging on to YouTube and watching "Spud accidently beats H in a game of slightly drunken Bar billiards". No longer! As for not wanting to beat oneself up , I provide a cheap and discreet "Back alley" service for those who who no longer wish to do it for themselves. P.S. No actual offence taken by the way H. I know what you are saying. Maybe H will be calling on your services soon Spud..... on a Thursday night (after Worthing League) though, rather than after a Mid-Sussex game.... ;D IanG earned a point for pointing out the error of my ways..... Mill House Z v Hurst B The Zeds are pretty much unbeatable at home on their dodgy table.... ;D ....with Tommo, Barry and Alan all winning they will keep that run going, Steve and Darren may keep the result in the balance though until the end. Sorry BBW the transfer window closes at Christmas in Mid Sussex But Darrell will have a go ;D While I will take a point OFF myself for my mistake..... :'( Tommo resolved the problem with the Fish table.... LOL - Laughing Fish table needs "BOTOX" injections to get rid of some of the wrinkles. ;D .... and Spesh and Tommo both earn some extra points for educating us all about with an interesting link to the history of Hurstpierpoint.... Albert Pierpoint was following a family tradition, father Henry and uncle Tom both being top ropesmen. I think Albert, who did for John Haigue, outscored them both. He was pretty busy after the war with former concentration camp guards, comandants etc. Mad Dog He also did for Derek Bentley("Let him have it, Chris") and Timothy John Evans (convicted instead of Christie), both of whom received posthumous pardons for their alleged crimes. Very fast worker, could get them from cell to dead in about 12 seconds in some nicks. MD .... and the last bit is ALMOST as fast as H plays! :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D Allowing for the extra points awarded for Tommo's BOTOX and "Pierpoint" referrals, here are the special bonuses awarded for this week.. Tommo - 9.0 points SpecialOne - 4.0 points Spudgun - 1.0 IanG - 1.0 H - 1.0 BB Warrior - 1.0 minus 1.0 = 0.0 :'(

SpecialOne - 24.5 5. Tommo - 21.0 6. H - 13.0 7. Spudgun - 10.0 With 1 outstanding game from Week 18, here are the overall standings... 1. Bobhall - 495.5 2. BB Warrior - 401.0396.03. Adam - 3.0 3= Doug1502 - 2.0 3= Q - 2.0 5= Milko - 1.0 5= NigelS - 1.0 5= TiR - 1.0 I did however feel that there was some merit in IanG's suggestion in running a new competition for the second half of the season..... :D can we have a table for the 2nd half as I have no chance of catching up all you others .... although it wouldn't really be fair to those who have been "in" from the start...... :-/ So I have decided to also have a "Tipsters Part Deux" for just the second half of the season. 8-) Here are the current standing (after 4 weeks) for that... Tipsters "Part Deux" Pos Tipster B/Fwd Week 16 Week 17 Week 18 Week 19 Total
