Can I just congratulate Darren for being the first person in 3 years of playing Mid-Sussex to defeat me. He broke off with 5.5k, I couldn't get them back, he did and added another 3k before I played the table out for 4k. Great game, and its lovely to lose for once without feeling the need to beat myself up.
Very well played Darren and his whole team last night, on a very nice table!

Can I just congratulate Darren for being the first person in 3 years of playing Mid-Sussex to defeat me. Slightly overstated, one game lost in both of the previous two seasons, as these records show. ;D mid-sussexbbl.co.uk/page26.htmlStill, 40 wins out of 42 prior to this season, and then add 17 out of 18 for this, is still mighty impressive! SuperG went nearly 2 seasons unbeaten, btw. ;)

Hurst A v Plough Plumpton Two teams in terrific form, Plough to keep their super run going with a 3-2 win and Darren the highest scorer. Brewers Arms v Eight Bells Another high-scoring affair, the Bells still dusting the cobwebs off having sat the last two weeks out. 3-2 to the Brewers. Derek and Jock to star. Watermill A v St Francis Will the Saints' captain save his own neck by inspiring his troops to a win? Difficult place to escape from with points. 4-1 to t'Mill. Greyhound v Watermill B The hound won their last home game 5-0 and will be quick out of the traps again. Could be another whitewash. Plough Lower Beeding v Brewers Bravos A close 3-2 win for the home side. Mill House Z v Hurst B Hurst didn't like the table the last time they played it as a neutral venue in theTeam Cup. Will have to try and remember how I set it up that night and make it the same. ;D ;D ;D Will predict that the B's take advantage of no SuperG and take us 3-2. Woolpack v United Services Club Much will depend on how the draw comes out. I'll say 3-2 to USC and wins for Sparky, Terry the Gas and the 'Handy Guy'. ;) Laughing Fish v Horns Lodge Big-time knee-jerk reaction from H, another 19k? Will inspire his teammates to a good victory - may even be 5-0.

Blimey! One of my favourite pastimes is logging on to YouTube and watching "Spud accidently beats H in a game of slightly drunken Bar billiards". No longer!
As for not wanting to beat oneself up , I provide a cheap and discreet "Back alley" service for those who who no longer wish to do it for themselves.
P.S. No actual offence taken by the way H. I know what you are saying.

Only me Hurst A 3 PPG 2 hard to call, home advantage, only one game won against the break
Brewers Arms 3 8 Bells 2 hard to call, home advantage, only one game won against the break. Swan menace culled by someone who ignored Hadrian's little hint.
Waremill A 4 Saints 1 freefall continues, leagues longest serving skipper sacked!
Hound 5 Watermill B 0 Hound hitting their straps. Could see at the very least 3 hounds victorious in this whitewash.
PLB 2 Bravos 3 ALL GAMES WON WITHOUT THE BREAK! Wow, that's a shout and a half.
Millie Molly Moos 4 Hurst b 1 Don't want to tip a loser, but John, ACEED, Haigue has never enjoyed a meeting with any of the Pierpoints, even Hurst.
Woolie 2 otherclub 3
Fish 4 Horny Lodge 1 Two of the Lodge will just be beaten and two will lose. All 4 will not have scored as much as their opponents. A quick game of Toads and vigerous self-flagelation in the car park then back to a secret location in Chailey, for some really serious self harming.

Mega bonus points due I hope for the subtleties of the references towards Hadrian's Hint/ Hague and Pierpoint/ and self-flagellation. I'm sure they won't be lost on the erudite Warrior. ;)

It's not been Dave's week.......yesterday in a single leg game in the Oxford Open he lost the toss and the opponent (Pete Phillips from Hastings) scored 10k and touched up. I would have been tempted to shake hands there and then, but - fair play to him - the Warrior made a fine 8000 break in reply. :o The table looked rather nice so I thought I would have a go at it....... ;D I never mind losing to anybody who plays well..... both Pete and Kev did that in the matches and I enjoyed playing both games, despite the result going against me. :'( 8-) A good philosophy, Warrior, one which I follow myself. I try to main a good level of consistency, so that when I do get beat it is by someone who demonstrated better skill than myself on the night. But there's nothing worse than having a really good chance and blowing it. Which is really the point that Henry was making, though the way he phrased it offered temptation to those of us with mischievous natures! ;D

Here we go again.... ;D
Hurst A v Plough Plumpton Not much to choose between these two teams, but the visitors have the benefit of the extra break so I think a 3-2 away win could be the result. Bobhall & Pete E win for the home team, but Darren, Jan and Dave K take the spoils.
Brewers Arms v Eight Bells Another tough match to call, will the Swan menaces be available? Local knowledge will help the home team to a close 3-2 win, Jock, AFW and Dilly for the home team and Doug and Nick for the visitors, Ros grabbing a victory if one of the others not available.
Watermill A v St Francis The Saints skipper will be trying to turn the tide, but the odds are against him. TSO and Manly Harveys take 2 points for the visitors, but Norm, Kim and Chris give the home team the victory.
Greyhound v Watermill B The dogs are finally out of the traps and running, Trevor, Ted and Peter B ensure a comfortable home win. Plough Lower Beeding v Brewers Bravos Adam knows this table from the Horsham League and should win, but there won't be any big scores here tonight and the missing Spud will mean that his team will slide to a 3-2 defeat. Mark, Geoff and Steve win for the home team, Lynne will also have a good game and grab the other point for the visitors. Mill House Z v Hurst B The Zeds are pretty much unbeatable at home on their dodgy table.... ;D ....with Tommo, Barry and Alan all winning they will keep that run going, Steve and Darrell may keep the result in the balance though until the end.
Woolpack v United Services Club A close and low scoring match in prospect here, Malc and Lynn to win for the home team but Sparky, Terry G and Mick will take the points away with them on the night.
Laughing Fish v Horns Lodge H will certainly be looking to get his average back up above that 10k mark again, but he will have to wait for another big score until he gets his "proper" table back. A 4-1 home win for the Fish with H, Andy and Chris all winning, Geoff W hitting back for the visitors.

Hurst A 3-2 PPG Will be close, but the home advantage will tip the balance.
Brewers Arms 3-2 Eight Bells
Very draw dependent, but the Brewers have a strong team this year so should just take the home win.
Watermill A 4-1 St Francis
Shaun to take the 1.
Greyhound 3-2 Watermill B
Close games, but if TFD and GTL get a chance, they will take the 2 legs for the Bees.
PLB 2-3 Brewers Bravos Table may defeat a couple of the Bravos, but they should still take the win.
Millies 4-1 Hurst B
Home advantage and a side without a weak link mean a comfortable home victory!
Woolpack 2-3 USC
Table takes some time to figure out, but is more than playable. Will be draw dependent again, but I can't see the result going the other way!
Laughing Fish 4-1 Horn's Lodge
We shall see who the Lodge field tonight, but they do have some capable players. I hope to take one of them out and go for the 5-0, but 4-1 seems more realistic!

Must be very brief here.
Hurst A Vs Plough (PG) The scales eventually come down in favour of a 3-2 home victory
Brewers Arms Vs. Eight Bells 3-2 home win with 3 5k plus and one 5 figure score on the night for both teams
Watermill A vs St.Francis Home victory, probably 4-1
Greyhound Vs Watermill B Another 4-1 home victory
Plough (LB) Vs Bravos My attempts to get out of a turgid work do tonight have sadly failed. My team won't miss me and will win 3-2
Mill House Vs Hurst B Hurst will narrowly fail to storm the fortress. 3-2 to the house.
Woolpack Vs USC The servicemen to take this one 3-2.
Laughing Fish Vs. Horns Lodge The fish to take this one 4-1

Hurst A 3-2 PPG Still sticking with our stable mates at least 1 away player to put them down 4 times Bobhall to play DARREN.
Brewers Arms 2-3 8 bells Sir Jock goes large if he plays in the first 3 anything after that forget it hic. AFW takes out Swan mennace
Watermill A 4-1 St Francis spesh wows the crowd with his wonderfull display of wizardry & accurate potting skills Away team complete 3 laps of the beer pumps
greyhound 4-1 Watermill B Peter B hits big & other Gavin for the B's
Plough LB 2-3 Bravo's even with a weakened side as spud takes a rest after last night's brilliant effort in Horsham Team cup taking out silverfox ;) Paul MR & Nicky for Bravos, Geoff & Mark for Plough ( boring & safe )
Mill House 2-3 Hurst B We owe them a couple so will stick my neck out & go with my team to pull it off, thats if Tommo can get the cover off the table & it has warmed up from being out in the cold & damp. No Super G tonight but still pleanty of big hitters. I predict that the Hurst will field an all male team tonight ;D
DARRELL will do well on his first visit to this top this season.
Woolpack 2-3 USC no big scores tonight here but big Nige will triumph
Laughing Fish 4-1 Horns Lodge
Andy Brooks to continue his good form & Jim Asford joins in
I hope BBW dosen't dock too many points.
can we have a table for the 2nd half as I have no chance of catching up all you others

Jims in Euston for a further two matches...
On another note, having just been preparing the table for tonights match, I decided, since it was ironed on Sunday, just to block the table for this evening, and as a result, I think I have discovered why it is so poor. As I approached the pockets with the blocker, the cloth would literally rise up in a ripple - im fairly sure that means it is FAR FAR FAR too loose.
Back on the blower to nag Tarratts....
