THe CROWN pub has closed its doors, so not sure if the Billiard Team have made arrangements for thier home games, I see they are meant to be at home tonight, but if you see this Adam may be worth chasing them..

I have left a message on Sk1ppys voice mail ;) Never like to see a pub close, but as a billiard venue it wasn't at the top of mine favorites list! Lets hope The Crown boys can some how arrange something for whats left of this season!

Stout House Z 3 Railway 2
Foxy 2620 Sniffer 7920 2K from Steve and the same from me but Sniffer made sure with a 5k to win the first 0-1
Vern 4690 Nigel 2640 Nige also with 2k Vern needed a couple of goes at the break to even things up! 1-1
Andy Finn 5430 Mark Davies 2870 Mark made around 1500 Andy got his nose in front before hitting a split too thick but made amends later in the frame 2-1
Junkie Miller 570 Clacky 6890 Clacky off very early but Johnny making the same mistake gifting Clacky the break! And Clacky made him pay 2-2
Richard Plaw 5720 Corky 4850 A good tussle in the decider with Corky off to a 2k start , Richard getting 1k up and then adding to that Corky gets the break back at the end but not enough time! 3-2 to the home side
Loads of banter and a huge tray of sarnies, luckily no egg ;)

Dun Horse 1 Blue Ship 4
Grant Hope 980 Mick Johnson 1690 Colin Bolton 3600 Ding Johnson 4540 Dave Simmons 1600 Colin Cathie 3890 Stuart Hope 3330 Steve Holden 4820 Scott Hope 2820 Alan Maybee 2560
Scott played Alan first in a close game with lots of visits. Game went down to the last ball which Scott got on the third attempt.
Dave and Colin played second which was close until midway when Colin got the break back for 1k then lost another 1k and finished with yet another 1k. Dave struggled and failed to get the break back for the whole game! ::)
Grant and Mick on next in another scruffy game. Mick slightly ahead the whole game. In the closing stages, Grant got a break going which would have taken the game but for an awkward ball up the middle which missed. :'(
Colin and Ding played fourth in another close game, this time for the right reasons. Both players racked up some reasonable breaks with the lead changing hands a number of times. Ding got the break back at a crucial time to make the game safe.
Stuart and Steve contested the final game. After a slow start, Steve got some play flowing and pulled 3k ahead. Stuart managed to get the break back but broke down on 2k5. Steve managed another 1k before the bar dropped.
Definately not the result we were after this week. The Dun table was very awkward tonight with more rolls than the local baker. :-[ However, it was awkward for both teams and this was reflected in the fact that all 5 games could have gone either way. Fun night with The Blue Ship team as always, with a fair bit of good humour and chat.
Catering by Goldenlay. ;)

Actually thinking about it perhaps Alfold Club is not such a good idea :-/

Alfold SC 2 Southwater Club 3
G Fishburn 7100 M Blake 650
This game a tale of two half's, Mr Mel Blake (sorry don't know first name) had the rotten half with no luck what so ever. Gaz hit a great break of 6380 to secure the win.
D Slater 830 R Manser 4260
Mr Ray Manser (sorry again ???) hit 3 steady breaks above 1K whilst Dave found the peg on the same number of occasions.
M Greening 5650 K Newman 2380
Keith ( I think yes) started well with 2K, the Major, having flown in from the Canary Islands responded with 1K. From then Keith missed a couple of opportunities, whilst the Major strung together a couple of useful breaks to take the game.
T Goacher 1920 T Franks 5170
As expected Tony started of well with a 1+K break. Trevor got the break back only to miss it ::) allowing Tony to double his score. again Trevor won the break back only to frigging miss the split again, Tony was never gonna lose this one.
R Burgess 1200 A Temple 4970
Tony stated well with 2K, Rob had no response. Tony furthered his score using his guile and experience. Rob tried hard, but in vane, to get back into the game, but time was against him.
A pleasant evening, food by Moi, so really cant comment, though I liked it. well done Southwater.
Edit by ex-team mate Sparky :D
Thank you Sparky - Trevor

Springbok Club 1 Roffey Club 4
Yes you are reading that correctly. :o
Couple of Springbok players away, so a rather pleasant young lady stepped in to make the numbers up for Springbok. She had the pleasure of playing Micky who played in the spirit of the game and by all accounts possibly gifted the win to his opponent, but hey I appreciate it and the Springbok team enjoyed their night and were very grateful for the tips they were given.
So to all the Roffey Team a big thank you and round of applause.
Oh and the young lady was my daughter ;D

Big up to Micky, one of the nicest natured people I've ever met. It's not always about winning, is it? Congrats to your daughter, first win under her belt and no stopping her now, let's hope. 8-)

Congrats to your daughter, first win under her belt and no stopping her now, let's hope. 8-) You are right Tommo. Mick is a smashing bloke and knows what it is all about. Yes Izzie was chuffed with the win, but also very aware, that he is more than capable of leaving her in a trail of dust. Still its all about enjoying the game and by all accoubnts both the Springbok and Roffey teams certainly did that last night.
