HHUSC 1 - Eight Bells 4
Ros* 4,340 - Terry Gasson 2,620 Nick 10,390 - Bill Boyce 1,300 Rob D* 2,340 - Mick Kirwan 2,230 Doug 7,150 - Ron Wales 430 Trevor* 1870 - Sparky 5,930
Terry eventually got the break back, but far too late. A nice 6,290 break in the middle of game 2 sealed it for Nick. Rob needed the 200 with the last ball and potted it first time without it ever touching the sides. 8-) A nice mid game break of 4,700 made game 4 fairly safe for Doug. Trevor got off to a fair start in the last, but several useful breaks, including a 3k, meant that Sparky saved his team from the brush.
A really good laugh tonight, especially with former team mate Sparky.
The table was fantastic, straight as a die, supporting both potters and splitters - it certainly gets a commendation from me! :)
The food was extremely good and very plentiful. I can report that Nick and I got to the food first (before the entire home team) although the first bite of a sandwich was probably Nick's, by a short head. ::) Nick, Robbie the buffet slayer and I all had a really good go at demolishing the buffet, as did the home team, but there was still loads left at the end. 8-)

Mat has now lost fewer games than H What started off as a great season has turned rather hellish in the 2nd half, tonight being no exception!

Just wanted to say well done to Jan Bithell last night, she hit a break of 5340 on a tricky table, which I believe is now the Ladies Highest Away Break (According to the mid sussex website).
Well done Jan ;D

The two 'missing' reports, as diligently provided by the Old Fella:
Greyhound 1, Brewers Arms 4 The Brewers Arms open up an 11 point lead at the top of division 1 thanks to a resounding victory away to the Greyhound. Trevor Greenyer opened up proceedings with the gentle defeat of Geoff Fairs. Derek Taylor scrambled home in the second leg, just 30 points in front of Neil Burchell, and it was match over as Ted Stringer lost the will to live against Richard Jeffrey. Peter Burchell briefly stopped the rot for the Greyhound with a close fought win over Dilly, but in a captains’ match, The Farmer outgunned Trevor Rees.
Watermill A 5, Horns Lodge 0 The A Team dumped the luckless Horns Lodge onto the bottom of division 1 with a resounding 5 nil victory. Geoff Rose took care of Roger Dudman and John Staplehurst beat a spirited Dave Tiffin. Kevin Stevens succumbed to Big Norm for the match and a Kim Stenning 7K destroyed Mike Letham. Rodney Storr applied the brush with a victory over Tom Massey.
