I will have to try a few of these locations out the next time I'm in Manchester. I know that the Rising in Hazel Grove, Stockport definitely doesn't have a table as I've been there recently as the map said there was one, so would be good if the AEBBA map could be updated to remove this cheers :)
Also as far as I can work out, the Merry Monk in Rochdale has closed down now, so perhaps that needs removing from the map as well

Thanks that would be useful and might save a wasted journey :)
Also The Marble Arch in Manchester doesn't have a table, but apparently they have plans to 'do something pub-gamey' next year, so maybe hope for the future!

Interesting recent YouTube clip here:
Some research shows that the table featured is at the Railway Ale House, Stockport. Which confirms that Lancs/Gtr Manchester is a 4-Pin area.

We have had very little feedback so far on the claimed venues in Manchester, and by now our information may be well out of date.
Any Flickr pics or YouTube clips we have seen point to it being a 4-Pin enclave, so you will probably have to start it up from scratch.
Good luck with the venture !

Hi Steve,
Good luck with the new venture.
Will you be maintaining the crossscythes email address please? if not you'll need to change your email address on here. Equally you can change your display name if you so desire.

Here's an interesting one: www.theslateyard.com/the-location/new-bailey-plans.....houses this in the resident's lounge: - In a run-down area of Salford/Manchester (on the site of an old gaol) subject to recent regeneration: A sort-of northern cross between Grenfell and Docklands, a.k.a. an "urban riverside retreat". THE SLATE YARD (RESIDENTS' LOUNGE), NEW BAILEY, STANLEY STREET, SALFORD, GTR MANCHESTER M3 5EX

Hi SquireRichard, Your blog makes interesting reading as usual. I thought the Blossoms looked familiar, and find that I am running a separate thread covering Stockport within "Cheshire": Cheshire is really "bagatelle country", Chester hosting the only known active league in the country. However, there are reputedly some bar billiards tables in existence around the Stockport area: Slow and Easy, Manchester Road, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 7PJ Railway Ale House - non-league - 1 Avenue Street, Stockport, Gtr Manchester SK1 2BZ Blossoms Inn - Non league - 2 Buxton Road, Heavily, Stockport, Gtr Manchester SK2 6NURising Sun - non-league - London Rd, Hazel Grove, Stockport, Gtr Manchester SK7 6ADPointing Dog, Grove Lane, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, SK8 7NE mea culpa ! - but at least there are now three more for you to try out !!! The Blossoms table - looks to be in good condition, and it's a nice post-war Jelkes. Was thrown at first by the modern-style backboard which doesn't match.... or more correctly, by the absence of a swinging back board, compensated by the addition of a wall-mounted modern scoreboard, giving that effect. (Call me Mister Picky.)

Merseyside really, but I'll lump the Wirral side in with Cheshire:

Had beer poured down the clock slot on one of ours, that made a right sticky mess of the clock and the contents of the coin box.

Definitive list of venues in the North West (incl. Manchester) (confirmed if in yellow)
NB The N.B.B.A. in the last century was based in Darwen, close to Rileys of Accrington...however no trace of a former league in this area can be found. Whilst Cheshire is really "bagatelle country", Chester hosting the only known active league in the country.

There has been talk of that one reopening for the last year. Micro brewery as well and only a few miles from where we ride vintage rallies in the Lakes based at Torver.
It has my attention and there has been a public meeting over plans..
