New Sussex A first through the preliminaries and they play the Romans in the Quarter Finals. Hurst B and Atlas had to switch their games around due to a double booking at the Hurst Club so played at the Atlas on Wednesday 1st which was a 4-1 win for the Atlas. Please ensure I get the scores, and remember there are Sussex Ranking Points for each individual game won. If I have the scores on the doors Dave can update Sussex Web Site.

Bella Stoner 8,450 - 2,330* Jan Bithell Jan off with about 1k, Bella hit a superb break of 8,080 with her first visit to set the target for the Ladies High Break for the new season. 8-) 2-0

Yes an excellent performance for New Sussex B
Colin started slowly but always in front of Heather. 3630-450 (4-2)
Lee off early missing the one up and Chris off at 600. Lee got going to be 1k up. Chris got the break back and built almost a 3k break. built on his lead to win 6010-2640 (5-2).
Jason off early just couldn't get to grips with the pace of the table Kim built a great lead when Steve wasn't in the room and built a 1.2k break and kept the lead. Kim's best home score. 2670-2380 (6-2)
Steve started well. Colin couldn't get going and Steve eventual winner. 4140-1170 (7-2)
Me v Stewart. Stuart started well and increasing his lead. The first 8ins I struggled to get going but eventually got the break back and overtook Stewart. 4220-2670. (8-2)
A great evening with great company.

KT beat LLoydy Ricky beat Nige Geoff beat Ian Chunky beat Richard Foxy lost to Marcus I`m sure SirKT will post scores New Sussex `A` Romans Sir KT 9370 v 4540 Gareth - I opened with 3400, Gareth replied with 3900 and i finished off with another 5k. Rick 2350 v 0 Nigel - Nige kicked off with a steady 7k, only to put one straight into the 20 pocket without touching the object ball. He was first to get them back but broke down on 1500, Ricky made a quick 2k for the point. Nige black pegged going for the 200. Geoff 8220 v 1330 Ian L. - Ian was off on his first split. Geoff made a couple of breaks for his win. Chunky M. 7820 v 100 Richard - Kev was off early and Richard looked to be going well on about 3k only to miss a ball off the cushion. Kev then replied with a couple of breaks for the point. Foxy 2010 v 5550 Marcus - Marcus`s 2 breaks to Jim`s 1 was enough for the visitors to salvage a lifeline.

2nd leg New Sussex B v Gardeners provisionally Thursday 13th July, main concern is Old House at Home and Atlas as both legs to play, closing date will now be 31st July, but there will be no extension beyond that date. Please arrange as soon as possible so we can still play semis on time, thanks

Why no extention as the date for the finals is not until Oct/Nov? With people on holiday during the summer it is vey difficult to get a team together sometimes.

Allowed 6 weeks for quarter finals and with extension to end July that is now 8 weeks to complete. We now have 1st Aug to 28th Aug 4 weeks to arrange semii finals, then 29th Aug to 2nd Oct 6 weeks to arrange final. The County Champs are 23rd October and we are supposed to inform AEBBA of the county representative by end September so want to keep as close as possible to that date as possible. I feel that an eight week time scale is enough to arrange one home and one away leg, do understand holidays at this time of year but 2nd October only three weeks prior to actual team champs. Hope this explains why I want to push for completion quarter finals by end July, and this also allows resonable timescales to arrange semis and final at even spaces.

Second leg between the Romans and New Sussex A was played last night with the defending champs going through 6-4, just holding on to their first leg lead..
Ian L. 8290 v 7900 Sir KT - Ian broke off with just over 2k. I got them back and made a steady 7900 but carelessly missed a pot on the left 50, this let Ian back in to clear with a rapid 6k. 1 - 0 Nigel S. 300 v 15320 Chocie - Stu rolled back the years and showed us what he was capable of, opening with 9800, not leaving Nige enough time to catch up. He added another 5k for good measure. 1 - 1 Gareth L. 6900 v 5860 Foxy - Jim kicked off with 3k, Gareth replied with 6k, Jim got them back but fell short. 2 - 1 Richard W. 17060 v 420 Ricky - Richard opened with 11k giving Ricky no chance and added another 6k. 3 - 1 Marcus 1290 v 8450 Chunkey M. - Bit of a nervy game this one. Kev off early but had the balls back twice more to set up a 3k lead. Marcus never retrieved the break and Kev made sure. 3 - 2
