Plough L/B 0, Mill House Z 5
Mark Webber 1190, Alan Downs 3180 Steve Whyte 1460, Mick Holmwood 2740 Steve Vizor 1830, tommo 2150 Geoff Parsons 2500, Graham Daniels 3220 Kieran Budd 1110, Barry Timson 3510
A hard-fought match despite the result, the third and fourth games were both even right up to the bar. The table not giving away points cheaply, and as a result choice of shot became important at times.
Excellent spread of food, sandwich selection was corned beef, sausage, cheese, tuna and cucumber, and ham. Plus of course Parsons' Patent Pickled Onions - just what tommo's cold needed! ;D

We were a little bit focussed because we wanted to hang on to our fourth place in the league, with the Fish breathing down our necks only 1 point behind us. :o
A good fun evening with the Horns Lodge team and a great atmosphere in the pub, it's a shame we've had to wait until the last game of the season to play here. Thanks to the pub for some fantastic pizzas and roast tatties. 8-)

The Lodge is one of the best venues in the league in my opinion. Great beer and great food!
We also won 4- 1 tonight. No exact scores to hand but the match went roughly as follows:
Keith Fantom 0 (BP) - 1.9k Gavin Boyd Les Whiteman 2.2k - 1k Gavin Offord Andy Brooks 1.9k - 1k Paul Blackburn H - 9k - 1k TFD Ray 5k - 0 (BP) Mark Ridley
Scores very approximate. To be honest, the book is downstairs and I've had a few too many rums to go and get it!

Here is the Final table - subject of course to official ratification by Fixtures Secretary Roy Wells.
Premier: Mill House Z 30 26 4 115 35 141 Plough PG 30 21 9 97 53 118 Watermill A 30 21 9 88 62 109 Eight Bells 30 18 12 83 67 101 Laughing Fish 30 18 12 82 68 100 Greyhound 30 16 14 78 72 94 St Francis 30 15 15 73 77 88 *Plough LB 30 11 19 62 88 72 *1pt deducted
Divn One:
Brewers Arms 30 21 9 99 51 141 Hurst A 30 20 10 89 61 129 Brewers Bravos 30 12 18 72 78 101 Hurst B 30 13.5 16.5 69.5 80.5 98 HHUSC 30 10.5 19.5 59.5 90.5 85.5 Watermill B 30 7 23 46.5 103.5 63.5 Horns Lodge 30 6 24 44 106 62 Woolpack 30 4 26 42.5 107.5 55.5
This has been a record season for the Premiership, with Champions Mill House 'Z' smashing the previous best points tally of 118 set by the Greyhound two years ago. Record points tally in Div One remains at 149, set by the Watermill A in the same season.
This begs the question - is this a record for all Sussex leagues ? Even in Horsham, which in its heyday had 48 teams, the best is a mere 115.5pts.
The Zeds also matched their own record of eleven 5-0 victories - which they set in the 1996/97 season.

I'm surprised Sir Jock hasn't rushed to post this result, I know your watching.
Congratulations to The Brewers Arms who will need some boxes next Wednesday to bring home their haul.
We failed miserably in our quest to take the fight to them as they managed to apply the brush in both directions.
Dilly 6860 Iang 5050 after putting the one up behind the 50 in my opening break I got it back again & went off with 4.8K Dilly started playing & put on 2K & then well into the LONG clock he played like a deamon for another 4K to overtake me. Good game tho. Derek 3520 Darrell ** Derek was motoring & had around 8K when he played a slow 50 & missed the ball, Darrell was so surprised he did nothing on trip to the table. Derek composed himself enough to take the leg. Sir Jock 7060 Chris 2980 Jock on form again. Trevor 7920 Steve 3260 some very good play from Mr G AFW 3970 Colleen 760 Just to round off the night Andy showed no mercy ;D
A very enjoyable night with loads of banter on both sides, remember Jock no coaching when your player is at the table ;D ;D
Why can't all the league tables play to the standard of the Brewers it has to be high up that Ladder.

The two final reports now through from Roy, to wrap the League season up:
Hurst A 4, Brewers Bravos 1 Hurst A were at home to third placed Bravos and so things stayed after a good home win. Pete Hall started things well with a 9K put past Spud Spurrier for the first and it went to 2 nil after a strangely low scoring leg between Peter Edward and Bravo. Nikki Hinkins found herself a long way back as Kevin Hall finished on an 11K score to take the match and the fourth went to a subdued Rob Hall over Lynne M-R. The last point went to the visitors as Piers O’Sullivan beat Jenny Edwards.
Watermill A 4, United Services 1 Watermill entertained the United Services Club and finished comfortable winners to keep their third place in the premier. Mick Kirwan came close to taking frame 1 from Big Norm but the A Team skipper did enough. Chris Nikolaj took the next from Ray Pratt before Andy Guy pulled one back for the Club against Geoff Rose. A 7k from Kim Stenning in the fourth against Ron Wales made sure of the match and John Staplehurst tidied thing up for the home side when taking the last leg from Tim Best.
