Anyone following the Facebook page British bar billiards there has been a post which has uncovered a small league of 6 teams in York and the Secretary of the league believes there is a small league in Sheffield I believe this is a fantastic opportunity to expand the game back up north and Mabey introduce Yorkshire onto the billiards map with a possible open now I know the calender is rammed and certain county's are at best 150 miles away but it is a great opportunity in my mind I just thought I would post on here and get people's thoughts

Phil, look back through the posts on here, i quoted the rules and explained that Phil was not signed on for a team in the Oxford League and was therefore ineligible. Bletchingdon were wanting to play a guest player and asked me if that was ok, but i explained that he was ineligible and they therefore asked someone else. It was a similar case as they did not play in the league their team was from. You chose to ignore this rule and turned up with him anyway. I explained this to Craig at the start of the day (The reason why Geoff was in a mood with me all day!) that we would allow you to enter the team and if you won, then i would need to get a ruling from All England. I for one said to others that with Phil & Simon in your team would stood a great chance of winning and that proved me right as you did win and both players won all their games. The situation you mention with Geoff Jukes is totally different as that was to do with Geoff playing county for Surrey and AE team for Sussex. I can confirm that this was exactly what happened on the day and that the Berinsfield captain was fully aware of the situation. It's not Mark's fault that those are the rules Phil I think perhaps, looking forward, that as long as Berinsfield turn up with a team that is "legal" there is no reason they shouldn't play on the big day. Tony im not changing the team i took to the day we all played our harts out to make it a good day if you wana take it away crack on but i will stand by the players i took and who played and represented berinsfield

wow first of all i love the fact oxford are kicking up at there own county + there representatives
phil is going to be playing in didcot cc in there gracy j's semi final this means he played last game of season and possibly finals should they get there i offered up a solution by sighing him on for the summer league and playing him regularly (oxford summer that is) this got shot down even though summer league is an official league with trophies and competitiveness
if you kick us out for WINNING a tournament then fine it who gives a dam just shows some people cant hack loosing to weaker teams
and onto your comments keith about dropping 5 points i could have got someone to play who might have snatched us 5 points but i didn't i tried to keep someone like phil interested in playing so i guess im the bad guy AGAIN!

J Boal (Berinsfield) v C Bowler (Marlborough) - game postponed as Callum had no transport. I've been told that Callum has given this game to John as John can only play on a Thursday. As you are both in the lower section teams I should be able to put this game on another Thursday. Callum.....let me know if you don't want to play it. Johns in section 1 with us alan

Dont bother with the team already spoken to Pete after u put phone down on me when I was going to explain why you can't let me know on match night and why I need to know before hand but never mind we won't be playing and I'm claiming the game good day oh I'm not going to be flavour of the month :-P Does that mean you forfeit a point for cancelling match as we have not cancelled yet I have every intension of playing if I can raise a team. All you have done so far this season is to moan just be a little bit patient & you know what they say? Good things come to those what wait well if all i have done is moan then enlighten me lord of moans vill keeper of holding league to ransom no i don't forfeit a point but im not having you ring me while im at work on a THURSDAY match day to tell me whether you can play or not my team has families and commitments and i don't expect them to change days out nor do i expect them to come out at the drop of a hatch u rang me to cancel last Thursday so don't twist the story i said to you let me know Wednesday but you promptly said your not giving me an answer until Thursday which i said is no good you hung up the phone so no you cancelled im not going out my way for you when its only the 2nd game in

Oh dear Phil what the hell are you on about I am trying my best to get a side but am waiting for an answer as they are on hols. As for why can we raise a side on another day it's because we had players available as they were on rest days . We don't all work Monday to Friday Dont bother with the team already spoken to Pete after u put phone down on me when I was going to explain why you can't let me know on match night and why I need to know before hand but never mind we won't be playing and I'm claiming the game good day oh I'm not going to be flavour of the month :-P

I think you will find that kennington had to sign more players on to play the fixture because masons A wouldn't re-arrange . That is correct Sean, we had to sign on 3 players (At a cost of £7.50) as we only had 1 of our original team available to play that day. Interesting that they want to re-arrange and can play on other nights of the week when they want to re-arrange a game whereas their excuse to us last year was that they couldn't play on other days of the week.... i completely agree with you mark how can you claim you have no reserves on Thursday but have them on a Tuesday and wed of the same week

if this rule has actually happened then its silly as section 2 played section 1 last year and most of the lower sections achieved a win im 100% this rule was section 2 get all 5 against prem i don't see why it needs to be section 1 giving all breaks as well and i would love to know how this was changed without people knowing hmmm committee meeting probably or a behind closed doors meeting i don't know but i was with a committee member the other night not mentioning no names and even he thought it was section 2 get all against prem and its normal break when 2 play's 1 hmmm answers maybe?

Hi Craig at the AGM it was passed that Section 2 teams would have the break in all games against Premier & Section1 Teams Hi rich I think it was actually passed they would receive breaks against only prem teams as this was the issue on getting everyone to play each other lower section teams played section 1 teams last year and this was left standard so to make it fairer for lower sections we placed a rule for them against prem teams

Craig, apart from Michelle, all of your other players have had scores or breaks of over 10k this past season. The same cannot be said of the other teams you mention. When doing a grading, you have to look at the strength of the whole team, not just one individual. John has never hit 10k nore come close phil has done it once in the wallingford league which i always understood doesn't matter for oxford league and come on he has done it once not come close since so clearly you havent judged it on team then as far as teams i mention let me name a few players that can hit 10k easily from that section you got arthur mac, chris bateman, bob pincombe, pete soans, dennis atkins this grading is awful

League 1 Democrats Berinsfield Vikings Didcot CC Masons League 2 Marlborough A Marlborough B Gladiators Bletchington Opening fixtures shortly. Pete Seriously this is the grading your taking the royal p**s berinsfield in top section with john boal phil McFarland me and Michelle my gf has never picked up a cue and john and phil fit into section 2 with no offence meaning absolute garbage should this not be changed I am withdrawing berinsfield I would love to know how this was graded especially when glads or bletch are far stronger than us
