Hi All, Some of you may be aware, but i am running the London Marathon this year! :o I am doing this in aid of Pancreatic Cancer. As you know, this is what took our dear friend Ray Sturgess from us (who will be up there pissing himself laughing at me doing this!) I know this is a tough time for all of us, but if you are able to, please see the attached link and donate a few pennies. www.justgiving.com/Mark-TraffordMany Thanks Mark

Well done Mark - done that! Ray would be proud of you - he'd take the p*ss but he'd still be proud of you... ;)
Here - it says on the JustGiving page that it's the Virgin London Marathon - surely you don't still qualify for that....?? ;D ;D ;D
cheers Tony

Here is a couple of interesting facts about the London Marathon.... When it was sponsored by Mars, everyone who finished got a free Mars Bar. When it was sponsored by Flora, everyone who finished got a free tub of Flora. With this year being sponsored by Virgin, i wonder what everyone who finishes will get........... ;) ;D ;D

Mark, Good luck for Sunday and don't forget to wear something to cover your head as it's going to be in the 70s in London, something big and flowery would be nice, that way we may be able to pick you out on the telly. 8-) :o ;D ;) ::)

Hi Mark good luck for Sunday. You will be able to sooth your aching limbs in the clear blue waters of Cobo Bay the following weekend. The local seaweed (vraic) has apparently got healing powers, so a good rub all over with that is reccomended. :o I will give you a donation at Open.
Look out for Guernsey bar billiards couple Geoff and Coleen Ogier, who will be there also (black t-shirts) Thinking of you and the reason you are running. sincerely Stormin.

Thanks everyone :) To say that is was harder than i expected is an understatement! I have a blister on my right foot that that i picked up on about 10 miles and is roughly the size of Africa! My legs are fine as long as i am laid down! As Milko mentioned, my left groin pretty much went after about 15 miles and then everything in my legs slowly went until about 21/22 miles where they were so heavy i could hardly pick them up just to walk! I am pleased to say that i did manage to run the last 385 yards to the finish line! :) The support from everyone along the course was amazing and really made you keep going. Some of the supporters were as crazy as the runners! There was one house that was made up like a pirate ship and everyone dressed up like pirates! I was even offered a beer by one supporter along route! Thanks again for the comments and those that have sponsored :)
