Hi All
Does anyone know anybody who is good at repairing cues.....??
I use a fairly old cue (about 40 years old!) which I love, but sadly the top half of it has seen better days...... much like myself! ;)
Ideally, I would like to keep the cue and get a new top half for it....... can anybody recommend someone / somewhere who could do this? ???
Thank you, in anticipation.
David

There's a man called Frank Sandell in Worthing, who is a snooker coach, he has a workshop and can do just about anything cue-related.
I bought my present cue from him, it's an old one which he shortened and tailored to my precise specifications, the job he did on it was simply perfection. I'd have no hesitation in recommending him.
I won't post any contact details on here, but if you want me to, BB Warrior, I'll PM you with them.

What you want will not be cheap! Mike Wooldridge made my current cue after FlyBe converted my old two piece cue to a three piece. Absolutely superb quality and workmanship and down your way. You need to know what you want as cuemakers are familiar with bigger balls than ours!! ;D My request was awkward, but he got it spot on! Two piece, full size 58 inch, very light, 11 - 12 oz Close & straight grained best quality ash cue. No ferrule on end with an 8mm tip, nice soft blue Elkmaster (or similar) tip. Must be a thin profile for feel on the smaller balls, 18mm - 19mm thick at the half way point. Normal 30mm width at the butt. Nameplate. Sav.

Thank you both for replying, much appreciated!
Sav, I tried to click on the link that you supplied....... but my computer said that server there not found! :(
As you know, I freely admit to being something of a technophobe..... ;) maybe you could PM me his contact details?
Mark, if you could PM me Frank Sandell's contact details, I will get in touch with him as well?
I'm sure that one of them will be able to help. ;D ;D
Thank you again!

Sav, I tried to click on the link that you supplied....... but my computer said that server there not found! :( Checked the link and it works for me www.handmadecues.comWhat was the price out of interest, Sav? £210 for the cue plus £20 for the nameplate which wasn't really worth it. I had been playing with several cues over the years that I had tried to rub down to a finer profile and drilled out the weights to make lighter. In my choice of queue it is virtually impossible to buy one. Snooker cues feel like broom handles to me and far too heavy to feather side on delicate one-ups on fast tables. Better late than never! Sav.

Hey Dave might be too late for this but I was hearing great things about Dave Anscomb, whom we play at interleague, He is captain of Worthing D playing out of the Dolphin in East Worthing. I've already booked him to work some magic, shortening my four piece and reducing the tip size and taking out the brass ferrul, sometime this summer.

Sorry I'm not the one for repairing cues. I can't work my own cue (in matches that is ;D) so I won't be able to help anyone there.
The person you are after is probably Gary Iles. He plays for us in the Inter League and has done an excellent job on my cue. But I have yet to do his work any justice though :-[

Many thanks Dave & Sir Jock (all respect to our newest DM! ;)) for replying.
I managed to have a word with Gary at the Interleague match last night and he has come up with some good ideas for how to save my cue....!! ;) ;D
My thanks to all who replied here, much appreciated.
