Thanks to the organisers for a great day, run smoothly even if people were reluctant to score.
Well done to Nige on winning the main and to Sav for the plate. For me personally my most successful day by progressing to the plate semi-final. ( Bad luck Martin in the final.)
Thanks to Sav for supply of tables that were a fair challenge ( not sure Martin and I were up to the challange of table 2.) Without the slalwarts who sponsor, organise and general put in a lot of time for little reward these events would never get off the ground. In these times of ever increasing costs they need our support and I as a newcomer to the open circuit can only reccomend them as a way of meeting others, improving your own standards and to marvel at the best plying their trade.

Thanks for the thought, Tony. Perhaps you'd have given Sav a better run for his money than I did in the final!
We did both struggle with table 2, but overall I think the tables were challenging but, importantly, straight and fair. There were some good scores being posted on the day. Well done Sav and the guys that set them up for that.

Well done to both of you. They were nice trophies that you went away with, good to see you getting fair reward for your achievements, you both performed very well on the day.
Last year was my first 'Open' for seven years, and the first time I'd entered more than one in the same year. I'm now addicted to playing on the circuit.
We have to spread the word to like-minded individuals, as it could be said that we relative 'newbies' represent the future of the game !

Thanks Tony, well done to both yourself and Martin on your plate exploits. Yes table 2 was very tough, but the only tough table I found on the day. The only way I could make a score on that table was by playing the one up and split without playing the break shot. Must admit the last 3 tables i played all felt exactly the same, a credit to Sav that he has made them so consistent.
As Tommo says we need to get more people going to more opens, the Bucks is in danger of cancellation due to lack of entries, one problem maybe is that it is the holiday season, perhaps another is that there are fewer local players as bucks has a smaller player base, but they did say there were not many entries from outside Bucks. It would be a shame if this open was not to take place, it is strange as there were over 70 entries last year.
