Any thoughts on what bits you thought were worth watching ?
My impressions :
Arctic Monkeys - first time I'd seen 'em. Quite impressed, rare to find a young band with serious merit as musicians.
Guillemots - weird, man !
John Fogarty - the Credence Clearwater Revival man stole the show. Great voice, great guitar work. Keep on rocking (all over the world) !
Kaiser Chiefs - great live band, lots of energy.
The Who - absolutely great - especially when they did Won't Get Fooled Again.

Lily Allen did a good set, if you like that sort of thing.

I agree she has a certain appeal. I caught the start of her act when she forgot the words and shrugged and carried on with a smile. And another glimpse when she was on stage with the Specials. Q used to keep on about her, and in the end I went out and bought her album. MrMike007's a fan too.
The Kaisers have been pounding through my brain all day. :o

The re-vitalised Manic Street Preachers played an excellent greatest hits set. The Killers were good, too.

The Who still have the ability to rock the audience.
The Manics were great but the best act I saw was Seasick Steve a white bearded delta bluesman

I would have to agree about the Manics. Excellent band. (Possibly a touch to the left for tommo, though!!). Spot on for me!!! Wasn't it the Manics who sang "If you tolerate this, then your children will be next" ? Perhaps by this they meant: mass immigration widespread hospital closures increased crime stealth taxes pillaging of pension schemes decreasing standards in schools ailing transport system concreting over the countryside and surrendering our sovereignty to Europe.Talk about the lunatics taking over the asylum !

What tommo actually means is:
Unprecedented investment in both health and education (but if the professionals didn't resist change and were actually prepared to work like those in the real world - there may have been swifter change) with best ever examination results and eliminated waiting times Immigration for those workers who are prepared to do the jobs that those in the UK seem to not want to do any longer - thus demonstrating the kind of work ethic we have sadly lost Increased reporting of crime (not increased crime) Assisting in making a more stable and mutually beneficial europe Minimum wage meaning the guarantee of 5 times more pay for more than 30% of the UK workforce
Good point tommo!!

Bryan Ferry. Has thoroughly entertained me for the last 30 minutes. Has a good backing band, all good musicians, back to Roxy Music days. The female saxophonist almost measures up to Andy Mackay. Good lead guitarist and female drummer too.

Also worth a look/listen........... Something old: Blondie; Robert Plant; Lily Allen; Kaiser Chiefs; Something new: Chvrches; Haim; Warpaint. Having recorded most of Glastonbury and still wading through it all. Robert Plant was good value. Jake Bugg also good.
