Can someone who attended the AEBBA AGM please post a brief report of what happened there?
I deduce from cryptic references elsewhere that Dave Allder is the new Sec., but were there any other officer/committee changes?
Also, were the various rule proposals carried or defeated?

Mark From what I remember, Dave Alder is new secretary, as you said, and Mark Trafford (aka Millhouse) is Treasurer. All the proposals were voted against (I think) except Chris Savilles one about collating all the rule changes and producing a new rule book for the Tournament Director to work from (and everyone else) Tony

Dave May took the minutes as usual and they will be posted as soon as I get them.
The other proposal that got through was to invite the Crapots & Donkeys ;D ;D to Reading. This, however we cannot do according to the rules I have now started work on!!! They clearly state affiliate members only!! Think a change to add 'associate' is called for there.
We have also been applying the aggregate score tie break rule incorrectly for years, unless its been altered, matches lost comes into it as well as matches won!!

Hi Mark,
Overall I thought it was a positive AGM, with the only rule change going through was re Sav's rulebook, which is obviously a positive move for our game.
With regards to scoring systems, both Paul Sainsbury's and Brian Daniels proposals were rejected, and the current criteria that I have been using was kept which is matches won then aggregate scores.
With regards to National Team Comps, Geoff's rule change was rejected, as it was felt the existing rule was adequate, it just needing clarifying and stating in the rulebook. Basically, you cannot represent more than one county in a calender year, which is the rule broken by Berkshire's team this year.
Brian Daniels removed his proposal re expenses before it was discussed.
Pauline's rule change re mixed pairs groups, in that only winners can progress in the tournament, was rejected on the basis that it should be left to the TD on the day to decide the format, which of course may differ depending on numbers etc.
Also Mark Trafford is the new treasurer, so welcome to the AEBBA commitee to him as well as Dave Alder.

As Chris has said in an earlier post above, the AEBBA AGM minutes will be sent out to him before the Xmas break to be put onto the AEBBA web-site. Once it is there, you all can peruse at your leisure, and the new AEBBA Secretary, Treasurer, and other Officers will be sent a copy as a matter of course. If Dave Alder wishes me to send out copies to all counties, I will do so, in an E/mail attachment
