Cask Club 'A' v Old House at the Duke of Wellington
Very enjoyable evening, as always, with the ladies from the Cask Club. Shame about the table though!
As can be seen from the scores, the table was extremely unforgiving, nobody managing to pot a ball from the break shot until the 3rd game and no breaks anywhere near to a thousand until the 4th. Barney then found a way to score some, by managing to play a one-up and then expertly potting in the left-hand 50 hole, resulting in breaks of 1.5k and 3.5k and little else.

Result 1 - 4

An interesting match at the Atlas on a unforgiving table.
Shame we did not have a fifth player!

Cask Club `B` 0 - 5 Swan `B`.
Table was good if a bit slow, scores of 6,000 plus by Brian Richards and Matthew Squire. Other winners were, Phil Oakley, Trevor Foard and Roger Taylor. No scores as I posted the card before taking down the results.
Good evening, thanks to Steve and Chris at the Marine View for the sandwiches.

I did go in The Wellie on Thursday early evening to sort out the coin slot as it had jammed. I gave the table a much needed brush but didn't have time to iron it. The break was getable if you could put enough side on the cue ball and got the pace right, but it wasn't easy. Nige hasn't been able to get over to The Wellie in a while to do a proper maintanece job, so I do what I can when I can. It's always tricky when a table is not used regularly for league matches. On the bright side ( :-/) at least it equally horrible for both teams :) ;) ;) :)
