Less than auspicious start for Hailsham Roadways, after a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of the Hurst Arms
a Roadway player decided to take my car keys for a ride home, then i the confusion i lost both score cards and all contact details (hopefully in the pub and not thrown away).
Some days its just not worth getting up in the morning!!

Some days its just not worth getting up in the morning!! As a similar occasional sufferer of 'bad day syndrome' you have my utmost sympathy. Ever seen the film 'Clockwise' starring John Cleese ? Margo recently offered to take in a washload to dry for our daughter, and one of our granddaughter's cardigans fell down and got burnt and she had to replace it - and last month we had a day out in West Wittering and I somehow managed to get my car stuck in the sand. :o Fortunately six Good Samaritans suddenly appeared to help me out. :D |

Visited the Half moon Cade Street Tuesady as we had a bye, tried to arrange some games with the locals but i didnt give enough notice so have arranged another get together for 28th.
The floor was so uneven that we were unable to level it satisfactorily, so have arrenged to send over some timber to raise the back legs by 15mm should give us more of a chance, also only 6 whites, the red spot is only 6" from the D and pockets were aweful, probably plenty of chalk under the matt as well, so theres a definate opportunity for some improvement :o
At present the locals only play on 1st sunday of the month in an agreed format

the table was woefully set up last night, i can only remember 2 tables ever set up worse in the last 20 years, could say more but its best to just forget it.

Had visited the half moon the previous week to fit some spacers to enable us to level the table the results were not perfect but satisfactory. had arranged to start at 7.45pm and a 8.20 no one had turned up so we thought the worst. Then suddenly everyone was there raring to go, we aggred term ie home break throughout visitors max 2k per visit. I had to dissappear after 2 games to attend Hastings meeting and return later for doubles match
