Corner House 4 Portcullis 1
All will undoubtedly be pleased to know that I made my debut for the Corner House A in this season's Oxford League last night and my league average has soared to 1010.
I was the only loser (to Mike Shephard) and played as if I had both hands tied behind my back. Could not put two shots together even when my opponent knocked down the black pin.
At the death, the winner was going to be one who cleared the table and made a break.
But there again, I would always prefer to be the only loser than the only winner, as it is a team game and we won 4-1.
Micky Jones played well to beat Terry Alder against the break when Terry lost his opener. Ian Moss also played really well with about 7000, as did Alan Oliver. Allan Lacey won the 5th with a little more of a struggle. There were only two away scores over 3000.
They probably wished that they had played the 4 player rule.

Three good scores there (legs 1 - 3) from the competitors in last week's Under-22 event. Did that boost their confidence, do you think? Obviously that competitive practice was all cancelled out from both the guys in the 5th leg.
Well done, I shall be keeping my eyes on your progress.

Richard, the table can't be that bad, as Pauline & Adam both made 7,000 brks each on Sunday.!! It's just the players Dick ;D Pete, I would go along with that statement entirely if I had been playing and my score was low, but I base my remarks on Phil and Reg's games and also the remarks about the top end roll by the players from the Shelly and our own players. Break players have little or no problems apart from the red pulling a little wide on the one up. Anyway table has been adjusted and playing quite well, we should see some higher scores on it now. ;D PS The table had been moved for the decorating to be done.
